If you need casual gamers? Yes, of course... only a very minor minority play this as anything but a game, and those are the ones who are the main source of income. Be thankful that they make the game you take so seriously possible.
Also, discounting people who complain about MC as "whiners" is horribad. Anyone who has to eyes and the ability to be rational knows that the card and the main decks it is played are completely broken; very powerful and easily the easiest viable deck to play in HS' existence. Discount as "whine" all you want, but some people want this to be a competitive game... if I wanted a single player game I'd play against the computer.
Seriously, do you have some kind of reading comprehension problems man?
First, I changed the thread title and my first post like 5 hours ago, so stop talking about casuals, the core of the problem is not all of them.
And second, I said that Mysterious Challenger is actually the RESULT of those whiners complaining all the time (although I can be wrong and this is just a mistake from Blizzard), making this game insanly more easier for the low skilled player. I usually play with Mage most of the time on the ladder lately, as I already said, so I don't have too much of a problem with it, but introducing more decks that could have a very good win rate against all this aggro/crazy stuff (so it can start to banish from the meta A BIT in the future, without nerfing it to oblivion and totally disappearing, because variety is healthy for the game) while being challenging and a bit hard to master at the same time (but not at the retarded level of Praton Warrior, wich was also bad design, because it was the other extreme, rewarding very good players too much) could make Hearthstone a better, healthy and more interesting game.
Brilliant gnome whiners accompany with reason? What magical place does this occur? Certainly not here, where people rant and rave like a lunatic about something with no reasoning, then make other threads of the same topic just to annoyingly flood the forums with trash.
There are a few that objectively complain about something and list reasons that show their understanding of the game and situation. However these are the exception not the rule
The only thing easy about the long term climb in HS is complaining about it. Short sited, needlessly frustrated, and vastly incorrect complaints are a common theme, and the various teams at blizzard have had a very tough time learning to deal with them, both from interpreting what exactly will calm and keep casuals, to trying to demonstrate to 'hardcore' players where depth actually lies, while also generating very polished content at a really consistent rate.
Statistics don't influence each other. You have no idea if 1/3 of the hunters got the pig or not.
And even if they do get it : sometimes it's better to have something else. There is so many different situations in hs that there is no stats. Just pure luck. Look at tempo mage and other decks. Just look at DR 7. Sometimes it cleans all the board while I don't need it, sometimes it doesn't while I needed it. Conclusion? Maybe perfect stats, but stats are applied to different situations. And you can't quantify that.
Since you can't, could we have a break with all the rng vs luck thing? There is rng. There is top deck. There is luck. Welcome to card games.
P.S: skills is very very very important don't take me wrong. But skill is more like to be able to take the best out of the luck you get and predict several outcomes and play around it. If you're very very unlucky, then you loose. A pro can loose to a noob. Just give him t7+ for the 3 first turns while his opponent plays the best early games cards.

OP hearthstone wasn't any different before than now. there wasn't as much netdecking and new strategies took a while to disseminate.
Having this pipe dream of trying building cool decks and coming up with the next big thing is just silly. Maybe when it was starting you could of put something that can win but not anymore. If you build something yourself you have to make sure it can answer secret pala and whatever other dominant decks there are.
If you wanna be creative then I suggest picking up painting or something, CCG do not offer this for years now, not magic, hearthstone, netrunner, whatever.

I'm not complaining about netdecking... Seriously, the hell are you talking about?

i'm talking about you. You're a type of player that has been around since ccg's got invented. you know the one that thinks that if only for a few cards he will trully shine with his incredible deck building skills. like i said, take up painting bra, this is not for u.
between the lines you are saying that you wanna win with certain cards but mysterious challenger (and some other cards) prevent you. so now you are conflicted - if you play challenger you are no different than the "casual scrubs" but if you don't then you won't win... i understand, it sucks, especially since CCGs are advertised of how you can be creative and build cool decks taht win, but that is a LIE. and it is not because of casuals. it is the same in magic and in every other ccg out there.
Just tell me one thing... if the game was designed with an standard, aimed to casuals, with a difficult level at the begining that made happy to almost every kind of player, making this game a great success, why the need to change it? Why the need to make decks that are easier to pilot than previous decks to reach legend lately?
Your assumption that there once existed a standard that appeals to "almost every kind of player" is flawed. There is no standard possible to appeal to everyone. They either appeal to the more "HARDCORE" (as you say) players, and everybody else feels bad about themselves; or they appeal to the more "casual" players, and you "HARDCORE" players whine and whine about it. When the game launches, the hardcore players jump in to venture into new territories while the common crowd still observe from afar, so the difficulty may be set to "Hard". But once the common crowd are lured in, the management gotta do something to keep these paying customers happy.
So you see, at the start, "HARDCORE" players are the majority, so the game may be hard, so that YOU HARDCORE players can have something to talk to other common folks. Now that the common crowd swings in en masse, the HARDCORE becomes the minority. Plain and simple.
Is it too hard to accept that you HARDCORE players are now becoming the minority?
Eternal whiners? Do you realize you have become one of them?

What? Where I said I don't netdeck and that I have problems with Mysterious Challenger. I have a very good win rate against Secret Paladin because I play mostly Mage since TGT. Read the first post man, it is all there. Or are you crazy? LOL
Shhh... don't let on there are different styles of a play and a developer might create cards that allow such styles to be played. Then the people who claim there is only the "right" way to play the game can't whine as justifiably about those who play the "wrong" way.

Oh, as an ex Magic the Gathering player, I have read that artice before a lot of times, and I find it very interesting. But Sahgos, the thing that you obviously don't realise still, is that we are talking about that this game should be for everyone and not only for one type of player. Blizzard favored very good players with Patron Warrior before TGT, and they are doing the same now (intentional or not) for low skilled ones with Secret Paladin, and that is very bad for the game.
op you used mysterious challenger as an example of a card that makes the game less appealing to you so yes you have a problem with it. whether you win against it or not is irrelevant. your contention is that it makes the game less than it was before because it is easy to pilot and casual scrubs can win with it.
the card itself is good, as it allows players to win who would otherwise not win. now i am not sure about other people but i doubt anyone will keep playing if they keep losing all the time. and we know that incredible players like you will win over them anyway so end of the day everyone wins.
and hearthstone has been casual from day 1. half of the playable cards have random effects depending on which you win or you lose. most of the skill in the game comes from whether you should concede and not waste your time. point is you are a casual player or you would be playing magic. i play hearthstone to have some casual fun, i play magic when i want challenge and my decision to mostly matter (as there is the luck of the draw in there.)

a game for everyone needs easy and powerful cards so casuals can win with them.

Why are people so up in arms about Secret Paladin decks? They are crap in the upper ranks. They are easily played around unless they get a perfect combination of cards which happens about 25% of the time. Decks that win 25% of the time aren't that favored.
Easiest way to fix this is to implement a minimum dust requirement ladder. That way if you don't have a solid gold wallet warrior like me I don't have to play against you. The game is rather stale as it is now and will only get more stale until new modes and rewards are given out to keep it interesting. Personally I would welcome dust ladders as something new. rewards for winning x number of games in a row stuff like that. I've gotten legend on different accounts when the game launched and it's purely a bore now. I play weird decks and see how high I get and I only play solid gold decks too. I have every card in the game and it's fun to use stuff no one else plays with. Why do I care secret pally is here? Mine is solid gold and grew boring just about as fast as my solid gold patron warrior did after 20 games. I feel sorry for the guys that have to play this game to eat......braindead after an hour is what I would be. The card releases can't come fast enough I'm afraid. As far as bad players go...who are you to judge man? You know you can play this on a lan with all your buddies who are only good players if you want to.As far as this brawl was concerned I thought it was boring with nothing to get other than a free pack of dust. Thanks blizzard for making it auto dust! I expect to see the new xpan at the end of the month. I have a gigantic pile of dust to make all the best cards gold on release day too! Nothing like uncraftable gold legendaries to drop that make the bad players and good just so jealous!
As a hardcore player...... get off your high horse OP. Economics 101. Blizzard is a business.....accept it. The number of casuals > pro players or in your case, people who think they are good. Blizzard stated in the beginning that this was a casual game on multiple platforms. Yeah...I can see it now, blizzard markets Android phone users going pro....

Bots can have around a 52% win rate with it. That says it all...
And seriously, where do you get your statistics, 25% win rate? WTF. Are you some kind of clown that loves making other people laugh with his jokes? XD
