The suspicion is that MagicAmy is two different people. There's the Korean girl who was seen on camera during the ESL tourney and a Canadian male who plays the games for her. It's important to not take this for fact but the fact that Hyerim Lee couldn't play for TempoStorm in person in China and couldn't attend the ESL tourney in person are red flags.
Now that I think about it, MagicAmy maybe didn't play those games against Hyped and co. and was actually watching the games while William Blaney, the Canadian male, played the games for her.

So, normal internet nonsense conspiracy theories, but this time with sexist overtones. Gotcha.
Barely any reason to call it sexism. If the exact same thing would've occured with a male player the reaction would've been the same.
Especially with some Streamers proven to be fraudulent the esport community got a lot more suspicious and is always on the look for possible frauds if anything they are less suspecting of female players.
I think what he's saying is that the implication that 'no girl could play that well' is giving perhaps undue weight to a rather shaky hypothesis.

Exactly. And would a male gamer even be subject to this kind of scrutiny?
There is quite a lot of evidence to back up these theories though. Chakki has some on his Twitter and there's lots of imgurs on Reddit and Forsen's Twitch chat.
Some are saying that Tarei, the guy who owned Tides in the tourn, was playing a lot of the games for 'her' - or the concept at least, of 'MagicAmy' - seems she was conning a few players, had them wrapped around the little finger ... had them playing for her or/them .. but again, this is just what's being bandied about atm. Reynad has tweeted that he won't stream tonight until he sorts the issue out relating to the team ... I'm sure he's more than a little pissed off.
Personally, I think the evidence is pretty strong that Amy is just the "face" while her Canadian buddy William is doing the actual playing. She's been allegedly pro gaming for years and nobody has ever seen her actually play. Never a stream, never showed up to a tournament and won't meet with anyone in her area if it involves actual hands on gaming. SPeCiaLIST called her out on being a fraud and so far there's no solid evidence to the contrary. I mean, it's already been confirmed by Prismata that she's liar and fraud just from a professional standpoint of making promises and not delivering.
My guess is one of two things is about to happen. A) MagicAmy completely goes into silent mode and is not hear from again. or B) She finally makes an appearance a plays at a skill lever far lower than expected, confirming that she in fact is a fake.
Man this is hearthstone. just play a couple games, you have like a 40% to win even if you have brain damage. If she lost then she could just chalk it up to bad luck. Even at a tournament. She'd only have to go one time lol.
Not sure about you 2, but I'd spot a weak player easily, and I don't consider myself a strong player. You'd know she was struggling to make what are usually easy decisions, she'd balls up more than the few expected times for a live event - especially as she's so confident and always pushing or promoting someone or something, she shouldn't be shy right? It might be an easy game get into, but it's not an easy game to pretend you're very good at. And since "Amy" beat the likes of Hyped and Xixo ... she should be a killer yeah?
So she's GUILTY until she PROVES her INNOCENCE. Gotcha. As an aside, you guys should cover up quickly. Your Gamergate is showing. Think of the children.
Are you kidding? I hope you are! Chakki is a tool ... he was so quick to dive on it with flailing arms, because he hates reynad, is jealous of him, and couldn't hold his piss when he got wind of this. I think the main point here is, Chakki is an idiot.
I don't think its such a big deal, I mean you can say its deceiving as far as the donations thing goes, but I'm not so sure if there are any rules against it, and those people are still getting what they pay for, good gameplay, and a favorable personality.
On the tournament side of things I can see where it can mess things up, as most esports, or online tournament have specific rules against someone playing for you.
If there really is some kind conspiracy involved, it just shows that transparency would have been a better option. People would probably still have been a happy to watch their stream, and donate, and it wouldn't have to interfere with the actual player participating in sanctioned events.

do they? magicamy never streams.. at all.. she just restreams some other guy and keeps chatting and asking for subs/donations and stuff.. not only that but when you watch ESL series you will see her reactions arent according to the game (the girl doesnt seem to be a hs player) .. at the very epic moment in the end of the series versus trump when she plays ragnaros for 50/50 lethal she Yawns on the webcame and after that is like "oh the enemy portrait blown up, i have to cheer for the camera" .. at the same time frodan, his cocaster and trump all go crazy about this moment.. also bunch of guys over reddit and twitter claimed that she asked them money which didnt return. (some guy gave her over 5k dollars in transactions) .. at the same time she has a full golden collection or what? :O like that is legit in any way.. you can imagine how much money and time have to be spend on such collection.. sounds like a sick weirdo who steal money from people to get more golden cards also lets not forget she refuse to get into any sort of Lan tournaments so far

When a pro like Chakki comes out and supports theory it has some merit to it.
