It was just another excuse for him to call all his viewers tards, let's be honest :D
I agree with him on Chakki and Blackout though, I think they're a cancer in the HS community, only ever seen them slag off, belittle and bad mouth other streamers, smacks of jelly. I came across Chakki's stream one night, and they [Blackout was on skype or whatever] were sending all the viewers over to another stream, could have been reynad's, to spam "Saltboys" and other childish crap... while they sniggered and guffawed about it like 2 10yr olds.
Reynad:"I’ve never actually been embarrassed to be a Hearthstone player before last week. All of you should be @#$#ing ashamed of yourselves and it’s probably the biggest setback to getting women into e-sports that I can recall happening in the past year or two… You all make me $@#$king sick.”
I'm glad I wasn't the only person. Looks like they did actually come up with nothing. Now Reynad is Reynard - and while even I find that position a little too harsh and extreme, it is good to see someone way up there in the HS community take a similar stance.
Let's be honest, you find this particularly compelling because it fits your narrative of 'horrible, misogynistic hearthstone community lynches innocent female gamer'. If the situation was reversed and Reynad had said she did it while providing nothing but his own assurances, you would be foaming at the mouth. Could she be innocent? Sure, but this video is far from conclusive, as it mostly relies on dismissing her accusers as retards, neckbeards, and crazies to make its case.
So the man that let a stream of twitch viewers extremely racist jokes be texted-to-speeched on his stream for cash is finally embarrassed to be a hearthstone player? Reynad has a strong tolerance for embarrassment.

While somebody might not the way how he delivered the message, he is correct. This whole case is build on thin air it's the classic reddit witch hunt and people chose to believe some random people (with shady reputation) because they want to and if you chose to believe them more then you do Raynad who has at least some connection and sources, that's up to you and everyone else.
I don't know what the truce is in this case and I actually don't really care but who ever thinks that those dicks on reddit are somebody to protect is an idiot. Why do I think so? Because even if one accusation that gets thrown into the void of the internet, made out of thin air with no prove but a whole lot of nothing and a nice store, is correct. 99 are not. But all 100 accusations lead to a ruined reputation because people want to believe every crap they read.
There is whistleblowing (releasing facts and data) and there is throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks. One has a small margin of error, the other a huge one.
I wasn't defending her accusers, as I don't know who her accusers are. I take issue with his tiresome moralizing and his reliance on ad hominem. Given his reticence, his video amounts to very little in and of its self. The issue is ultimately reduced to a battle of personalities. I don't particularly give a shit whether she did it. I mostly dislike how people use this issue as a sort of stage to showcase their refined sensibilities.
Well from reading the reddit, it sounds like a case that's been building over a long time and that has a lot of circumstantial evidence and basically no proof to the contrary when it would be extremely easy to deliver some and when many many opportunities to do so have been presented.
People have been suspicious of this person for a long time.

Hey now - no. I didn't say that nor do I believe that. I fully expected Reynad to take the opposite stance, to be honest. I didn't think he had it in him. I did say I didn't fully agree with his views on the HS community. He is drastically over-generalizing but I was happy he saw some of the things I did, being someone who put more time into this whole situation than anyone else most likely.
The HS community has plenty of people like you - a (presumably) good person who can speak their mind effectively.

You (may) want to defend social injustice where you see it - but you don't want to use it as an opportunity to raise yourself an a moral platform. I agree.
It's a difficult balance to be sure. I know for myself - I feel (mostly) good about what I've said, but that's because I know myself - I know my reasons, my beliefs and the context to which I am expressing what I am.
I didn't just look on google and jump on this, I have been aware of the Magicamy scenario in one way or another since before the ESL week she was in. To me this is a conversation that has gone on for a fairly long time now and has history. Some of this history understandably lost in what I say, but I do mean well.
The fact that it has been going on from before the ESL tournament she was in is interesting. I can't decide if it indicates that the accusations are founded on knowledge that others have had for a while that the general community is only learning now (the illuminati version), or if it indicates that sexist tendencies within the hearthstone community prevented people from believing in a competent female gamer from the first emergence of Magic Amy. That's what I get for expecting peoples youtube and reddit explanations to be reliable sources...
I would assume a portion of each. She did have a bad rep before ESL, but it wasn't general knowledge like it is now. I personally heard both reasons given beforehand. In a place like twitch it was primarily women hating - in more "civilized" places it was more about her shady relations with other members of the community.
Not that I am someone that is actually interested in internet drama but I was just wondering if the whole magicamy thing has died off. Which I am happy because its the stupidiest thing on both parties. Reynad made a comment on his stream about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-ID48uZGzM
The two points i gonna ask is
1. How does magic amy not have the change to go to an offline tourny when "she" is on tempostorm and they are the ones who should be helping with the travel money.
2. I personally seen anything online that shows what magicamy is rumored to look like but if reynad is so butthurt that people think magicamy is a guy, then magicamy should reveal herself to the world and tell us that she is who she is.
Yes it's over but there are people like you beating the dead horse.
1. How does magic amy not have the change to go to an offline tourny when "she" is on tempostorm and they are the ones who should be helping with the travel money.
Because she is a human being with a free will and she doesn't have to do anything of that sort if she doesn't want to and if she doesn't have a contract that forces her to do so. Also didn't she quit hearthstone/tempo storm?
2. I personally seen anything online that shows what magicamy is rumored to look like but if reynad is so butthurt that people think magicamy is a guy, then magicamy should reveal herself to the world and tell us that she is who she is.
And why do you think you have any right to demand that?

You don't half contradict yourself!
Yes, it's done with, already nobody cares. That's how internet 'fame' goes, if you're out of the lime light for more than a few days nobody gives a damn. Not, let this die, cheers.

Just gonna pop back in to say this:
Reynad, YOU - ARE - A - HERO. Don't ever change.

So, we're going to ignore the fact that cards were being played while simultaneously she was fixing her hair with both hands?
Okay then...
