One can only hope that this is one of many nerfs to these little low mana drop shitcards, that only serves as ammunition for aggro/spew your entire hand each turn and aim for face.
I hope they "buff" Harrison Jones to a 4-drop 4/3 and Kezan Mystic to a 3-drop 3/2 to balance out the disgusting plague of Hunters.
I've got a positive win-ratio against hunters, with my own deck, but I'm so f-n tired of facing that ugly diarrhea toned orc 7/10 games at every single rank on the ladder.
As a long time player who has used many decks that utilize Undertaker, I still support this change to the card. I have developed many decks over the months that would have been GREAT decks ... except they weren't viable against turn 1 Undertaker In Hunter and Warlock decks, which consistently comprise a large chunk of the meta.
Just so no one gets overly excited, though. There absolutely still will be aggressive deck builds on the ladder. They just won't have the ability to win the match on turn one anymore. I know some players think that they're so good they don't worry about Undertaker, but let's be honest -- the card was WAY stronger than any other 1-mana minion -- and it probably still is, even after this nerf.
People might complain that it "took too long" for this change to Undertaker, but I personally respect Blizzard for taking the time to MAKE SURE the card needed to be nerfed before acting. I am totally OK with that. It's better than making reactionary changes without carefully studying them first, over time.
Hopefully, this nerf will have the effect of further diversifying the meta. While perfect balance is impossible, I think most could/should agree that the greater variety of competitive decks, the better.

I'm playing a Hunter Hunter atm, it runs double Flare, double Explosive Trap, Harrison Jones as well as some cute combos with Explosive Sheep + Feign Death. It's a bit of a wonky deck, but it's so satisfying when you crush those little Hunter boys.
The meta will shift in an enormous way , Mid range and control decks will raise again , We wont be obligated to put answers to 1 specific one drop anymore , more possibilities are open , and that's just great for the game , more versatilitie .... oh boy i waited for that nerf for ages , i can now derp around with dumb decks with some amount of succes :)

All of the current tier 1 strategies are either midrange or control ? What more are you expecting them to rise
And nope
70% of the ladder is either hunter or zoo ,Even casual is infested with those kind of decks . so please .
IMO, UT nerf is not going to stop Hunter aggro from being powerful. Hunter has survived every other nerf, and still has some extremely powerful cards. It is, however, a buff to Paladin, because Shielded Minibot and Consecration will now be able to kill Undertaker.

I tried 8 face-hunter games this season. I don't know how but I never drew a single Undertaker in the first 4 turns in any of these games. Beside this bad luck I won 6 of the 8 games anyway.. So I don't think that this will kill off the hunter.
To me the nerf is fair if I compare it to other 1-drops. Maybe making it to a 1/3 would have been better (so it is like a manawyrm) but anyway, this card is still playable.
Now after the big nerf there is a big question. Which card will be blamed next if bad players lose games? No doubt, that the player will be unguilty again and another superoverpowered card is the only reason for losing the game.

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?

Of course there will still be aggro! I'd go even further and say that Midrange Hunter will still be a really strong deck. I don't mind aggro. I think aggro is good for the meta. The thing about Undertaker is that it's almost completely impossible to come back against an insane Undertaker opening. This change makes comebacks much easier and means you aren't punished for not having a turn 2 response to Undertaker.
hey, guys being f2p player doesnt mean u got no bigger than 3 drop in your collection :) so even beginner players can build decent midrange deck for pretty much the same prize as the aggro ones..
guys, blizzard is running a formula. Dr. Boom is a great example. he is OP, so people want him. they pay money to buy packs and get lucky (probably not) or spend 1600 dust to craft him. cha-ching. fast forward to next expansion. Dr. Boom remains OP (just like Undertaker remained OP for 6 months) so he now, finally, needs to be nerfed to balance the game. Makes no difference to Blizzard because everyone already paid for him and now are buying the next best thing. He will still be a good card and most people won't disenchant him even for the full dust. it's brilliant.
Don't want to sound rude but you don't need to be a mystic to predict that, card was too strong for it's cost so it was kinda obvious. Or at least should be. Same should happen to Dr. Boom, I know they want to make RNG part of the game, but sometimes it seems Dr. Boom as 7 mana card gives you too much for the cost. So little tweaking would be appropriate. Also, if the number of Druids will rise as some says this card will be even hotter topic now - this minion makes perfect setup for FoN combo.
Agreed on all counts. That's why I said it was an easy question all the way back then. Yet, there were still people in that thread blind to the reality.
I'll make my next prognostication - Dr. Boom will have his bots nerfed to 1-3 damage.

maybe murloc decks will do a comeback?

Read the thread boys. Blizzard does hear your prayers and they will answer them. Undertaker will be nerfed!

I called it back on December 10th in this post: Predict the Next Card to Be Changed in a Patch - http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/24851-predict-the-next-card-to-be-changed-by-a-patch?page=2
Agreed. I feel Doctor Boom has WAY more balance issues than Undertaker.

let me change your mind...
Blizzard nerfs undertaker after I have14 consecutive losses to hunter on ladder?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great! Hearthstone is finally playable again!

The boombots should ALWAYS do 2 damage, being random is stupid.
my boombots always do 1 dmg face, but my oponents boombots always kills my ragnaros HEUHEUHEUHUEH
