These last 5 days have been the most fun I've had playing Hearthstone in so much longer than I can remember. I'm not just playing to rank up or to complete my daily/weekly quests. I also love having things to look forward to.
Spell Hunter? Can't wait to play it when its Kobolds day. Wall Priest? Looking forward to Rastakhan's Rumble day. Every time I look at the expansion list I see decks that I'm excited to viably play again for a day. I really wish there was a way to make this type of mode permanent. What do you guys think?
The only real difference is that this is will be more like Wild at the time. Not sure how strong Spell Hunter and Wall Priest were in Wild at the times they were popping up in Standard. Also, with certain nerf reverts we may see things like Undertaker Hunter and Patron Warrior stick around longer than they did back in their heyday. Not to mention at some point Big Priest and Secret Mage will start to dominate the population for a few days. And Jade Druid...
Right now I'm having a ton of fun with it too, mostly because I didn't play a ton during the days of GvG, Blackrock, or TGT. And when I did there were a LOT of cards I just didn't have. Now I have a majority of the cards, and so I could play some decks that I either missed or just didn't have the cards for back then.
twist would be much better with the old costs / stats / abilities of the old cards, for example the sorcerer apprentice was 2 mana, now with 4 mana it is totally unplayable, i would so much love to play casino mage with flamewaker ...
I got Legend pretty early on and I must say using cards I haven't included in >8 years felt surprisingly refreshing. Every day since has seen new pocket metas developing, so it never gets stale or boring. My only gripe, and it's a big one, is having to queue 15-20 minutes to find a match. Just now I had a 17 minute queue which finally found a match, only to bug out and disconnect. But these queue times are simply due to a lack of players from what I can tell.
