I have recently played a Hearthstone match in Europe and in the last turn I have received 18 (3 to minions and 15 to my face) damage from the card Collateral Damage. Is that normal? I thought it could only deal 6 damage maximum. It happened on turn 8 in this match .
If you had three 1 health minions, then that is exactly how the card works. It deals 6 damage to each minion and up to three minions in total. The excess damage dealt hits your hero.
So if you only had one 1 health minion it would only have done 5 hero damage. If you had either one, two or three 6 health minions, you would recieve no hero damage.

I feel like it's bugged/not working as intended personally; right now (just confirmed in a match), it can most certainly do 6 dmg (without spell dmg buffs) simply by hitting divine shield minions. So if it hits a divine shield minion (as just happened to me) it shows 0 dmg to the minion, and then hits your hero for 6 dmg. If it hits three of them, you get 18 to the face. Given the text description, there's no dmg and therefore no excess dmg in that event, so there shouldn't be any dmg to your hero, but there is.
That's true and I can see why you think its a bug, but arguably it's working as intended and is consistent with Explosive Runes in the same situation (i.e. it does 6 if you play a divine shield minion).
The coding is presumably something like deal X damage to minion and 6 - X damage to hero. In the case of divine shield, the damage to the minion is always 0, hence you get 6 to the face.
I personally don't agree that it should do 6 to face after hitting a divine shield (I think it makes more sense that the shield absorbed all the damage rather than none), but that's what it's always done (as far as I'm aware).

It deals 6 to three minions, 6 to each of them. This would be the worst 8 mana card ever if it did 6 total split...
