I played Alexandros Mograine vs a Rouge. The rouge player plays Gigafin (colossal) and swallows my minion. I destroy the Gigafin and get Mograine back, but not as a signature card but as an Golden copy of Alexandros instead. Is this intended or just a visual overlook? 

Probably just how it works. Like signature Arcsplitter gives you golden Arcane Bolt and not signature ones.

So I think Gigafin returns new copies and not the existing ones.

Technically the Alexandros is a new card when it comes back from Gigafin, so if the Gigafin was golden, then yes the Alex should also be golden.
