I have bought 20 packs worth of gvg and got some of the "must haves" common/rare/few epics. Still missing some epics. I managed to get one legendary ( the druid one that reshuffles itsself )
ANYWAY. I am wanting to play hand lock. I plan on buying 20 dollars worth of cards today and dont know what to buy. I was thinking 10 of each.
What I really need/want from Vanilla: 2x Molten
2x Mountain
1-2x faceless
1x Rag
1x Jarraxus
Everything else Im not really worried about. I have grom, alex, sylv, tink, noz. (Debating DEing the last 2) and about 675 dust right now.
Now I am after some of the gvg epics still and overall the general cards. Especially epics/legends. I am wanting to craft a handlock or a powerful deck to climb the meta but I am open to anything! I have my eyes on Mal' ganis right now ;)
So my question to you is.
Should I just buy GVG straight up and DE the stuff i dont want for the giants/old legends? OR split it up and take a chance at some of both?
As I said before I can DE 2 of my useless legends for 800 dust and I have a golden gorehowl somewhere i may get rid of. Which would be another 400. So crafting a legend or a few epics is an option as I have no other use for dust atm!!
I wish I had a lot of money to blow and just buy tons of each :( But with my luck and my money I dont think I will ever see a super powerful climbing deck. :(
I've almost never disenchanted cards I don't have two of, and I keep all my gold cards. The only exception was I de'd a golden hungry crab once. I think that as expansions come out, I might need to have less strict rules and disenchant more liberally. Anyways, I recommend sticking with gvg, and crafting vanilla cards as you go. I think that's what I'll be doing. I might mix in a few vanilla packs for fun eventually.

If you are trying to play traditional archetype decks like handlock, those are all vanilla cards. If you really want molten giant and jaraxxus you'd have to be getting those core set packs. It wouldn't really be feasible to craft all of those cards from leftover dust. There's nothing to say you can't make the next great deck archetype with the cards you get in GVG though.
I think most sufficient way is to by GvG packs until you have all or most of GvG epics. Than if you have some Classic epics left, just switch to buying Classic packs. (but it is my point, because I have all giants and faceless already)
All this depends on your needs, if you need no GvG epics, I would switch to Classic after all GvG rares and commons obtained.
Hunting to specific legendary is too random. Most of the time you have crap legendary = dust for one epic. It's better to stick to set with missing epics. Usually you need 4-8 epics in one deck (1600-3200 dust), compared to legendary cards, where you need 1-3 per deck (1600 - 4800 dust). Value is almost the same, but epics have higher drop rate, and in the addition covered by dust from crap legendaries.
By the way in same spot. Have most of Classic epics, but missing all Classic legendary cards except Sylvannas. And from GvG I have only Neptulon and Dr. Boom, and missing most of the epics. Really need Jaraxxus because playing as Handlock.
About two weeks ago I opened 21 packs as I do every week. In one pack I found 3 Golds, including 1 Golden Legendary The Beast.
In total from that pack opening I probably gotten around 4 Legendaries, 6 Goldens, and a ton of random stuff.
I got around 3600 crafting material total which is definitely worth it.
Opening packs in low amount under 10 is really underwhelming. If I were you, I would save until I could afford a bigger batch that way when you start spam opening cards you will be more relieved to open bad packs because you have more good ones.
It's all RNG and mind games. If you get good packs you are going to believe in opening more, and if you get shit packs you are going to hate getting them all together.

The times are changing, and with them comes the end.
Decks used on my profile are my personally used decks and can be copies of decks listed on the website itself.
I just have a hard time paying for a game that I cant even craft a viable deck to climb the ladder with (i know f2p got to legend but still) and iv spent... 60 of my own dollars + another 60 from giftcards on and I am not even close..
Should I craft maybe 2 moltens? Or just continue to hold onto my dust and those legends until I can fully craft something?
Please don't listen to people who say Jarax isn't needed because Healbot exists. The cards do nothing similar. Healbot does not take over the game the turn you play it and the turn after. Healbot is something you play to get to LJ, not a replacement for it.
If you can apply that skill you will get your deck. Playing this game on a strict budget requires the same skill as anything else in life on a budget. Stick to what you can afford and spend your resources wisely.
I would highly recommend you do not disenchant your entire collection trying to build one deck. At some point that deck will fall out of favour or you will grow bored of it and then you will want to disenchant all those cards for another deck. This will introduce massive diminishing returns at approximately 25% of the value each time you smash something.
It sounds like you want an effective ladder climbing deck. Right now everyone is experimenting and it is not clear what cards even will go in the handlock deck until the dust settles.
Here is my advice :
Never disenchant cards that see a lot of play because at some point you will want them. Go and look at all the top decks across each hero and figure out the list of core cards that you want to have access to. The rest you can consider disenchanting. In this bracket I would be very careful about disenchanting any Legendary because while you will eventually open a rare or even epic that you need, you have to open 20 packs to just get one random Legendary. So the reality is you have to craft any Legendary you want to play. Disenchant any golden card provided you have the required amount of non-golden. Do your daily quests and/or arena. if you don't have a lot of Classic set cards you will need to buy more of them with your gold than GvG as that is still a far bigger card set.
In the meantime, assess which hero or deck your collection has the biggest overlap with when considering the core cards you would need. Then play that hero and craft cards that will make that more effective. This may not be Guldan.

Sry for grammar. I'm Russian who learned English from computer games. And I'm kinda learning Spanish with Hearthstone.
Well.. i bought 7 of each.
Got 2 repeate epics (2nd murlock warleader and 2nd doomhammer for vanilla) Rest was shit.
7 Gvg packs were crap too. Best thing I got was Blizzard trolling me with a clockwork giant.
Got feign death for hunter and a few mage cards. ~400 dust. Putting me at 1090 dust + 2 legends to DE and a possible gorehowl to DE. :/
Meh..... Glad I didnt pay for those packs I would of been pissed.

I would look around here. I've dropped maybe 100$ total and I have almost all the neutral cards except for legends, that are used by most decks.
I also have all the usable deck slots taken along with all the decks being unique, mostly.
I think you should be looking into crafting a deck from a guide some where on the forum here.

I know you would have to know the cards I have... But is there any youd suggest?
I am just dying to play handlock is all :(
Getting tired of warlock zoo.. I have enough for trumps mage that he used against amaz but havent tested it out.. It has a lot of mixed reviews.
