I really wanted to like Mercenaries, but as it is right now and how it's been since launch just isn't worth my time. I hope they can figure something out to make it more enjoyable because as of right now, all i do is put my mercs in the training grounds and let them level up while i play modes or other games i enjoy.
Selfishly, I say no. However, there seems to be a non-zero number of people who enjoy the mode for reasons I can't even begin to comprehend. Let them have their mode supported and I'll have mine (Battlegrounds) and we can both be happy.
I honestly tried to like the mode when it came out, but it just has nothing to offer me. It feels like they tried to make a mode with no fun or randomness for those that don't like those things. I would imagine it's already been solved as well and will be very quickly when patches happen.

I have played about 10 games of Battlegrounds since Dragons were added, but I don't think it should be removed. The more modes that can keep people playing, the longer the game will last.
Is mercenaries worth continued support or should blizzard just let it die and work on a better pve mode?
My vote: let it die. Try again.
I will never understand the knee-jerk reaction to destroy everything one does not personally enjoy.
You already knew there were people who DO enjoy this mode, so this whole thread seems very trollish. It's not even like our individual opinions matter -- Blizzard will decide whether to support it based on how many people play it and how much money it makes.

Play it: we know that few people remained, there are data about it and also feedback in the post are pretty bad which underlies the general behaviour.
Money: my guess is pretty bad considering the above situation. Revenue can be high only if a few people are spending a lot. Maybe, maybe not.
