So while I was buying the mini-set I noticed that there are 2 new card packs you can buy in the shop, standard and wild card packs, the same standard one we were able to get a while back in a bundle, pretty exciting, if you have all the commons and rares from the older standard sets but still want legendaries from them you can try your luck with the standard packs while still getting commons and rares from the next new set when it releases.
Anyone able to confirm already whether the "first 10 packs" rule actually exists for these pack types as well? I ask because it took me more than 10 with Year of the Phoenix packs, and heard someone saying that the Class packs don't have that rule either.
While the possibility to get a free legendary in the first 10 packs is nice, the 'standard' and 'wild' packs are otherwise not a good option. Out of all 4 standard rotation expansions (same logic can be applied to all expansions for wild), there is one where you (a) miss more cards or (b) would like to open more cards (or a combination of both) which means that the expected dust benefit from buying a pack from that expansion is higher than that of packs from other expansions. The 'standard' pack will offer you an average dust benefit across all 4 expansions, but there is certainly one out of the four that is more beneficial in terms of expected value
If you didn't buy the bundle they had for Standard packs before, then yes, you'll get a guaranteed Legendary in your first 10 packs.
Was there an official confirmation ?
As far as I know there wasn't an official confirmation, but they are new packs. If you've never opened them before, you should get a legendary in the first 10 packs. I got one in my first 10 and I never opened these packs before.
Though some people said that you would get a legend in the first 10 of these. But as some of you said you did, I tried it. Bought 5 packs and got a bluwark of azinoth, so I am very happy. Definitely warrents the investment at least up to the first legend.
edit: just oned one wild pack and got a legendary, epic and rare in the first pack. pretty nice I would say
I'm not lucky, so there's definitely a guaranteed Legendary in the first 10 Packs. Sadly I won't be able to test if there is a pity timer because there's no way to tell it apart from RNG.

If you are missing a couple of good cards in every expansion this is great. But be aware half the cards will only last 10 months in standard
Silver Hand Recruit
Do the Standard and Wild decks have the 40 pack pity timer? How about the Legend in the first 10 packs?

Got my legend on the 9th pack. Up to you if you wanna buy though.
I bought 10 standard and 10 wild packs each on 2 accounts.
I always got a legendary in the first 10 packs.

Cho me what you've learned
I conducted 7 tests, here are the results:
1) S: G'huun the Blood God (6 Packs) | W: Bolf Ramshield (8 Packs)
2) S: Al'ar (5 Packs) | W: Hemet, Jungle Hunter (4 Packs)
3) S: Archwitch Willow (4 Packs) | W: Mukla, Tyrant of the Vale (1 Pack)
4) S: Lothraxion the Redeemed (3 Packs) | W: Blastmaster Boom (2 Packs)
5) S: Rinling's Rifle (7 Packs) | W: Dreadscale (4 Packs)
6) S: Mordresh Fire Eye (7 Packs) | W: Sindragosa (4 Packs)
7) S: Archdruid Naralex (8 Packs) | W: Shirvallah, the Tiger (1 Pack)
I'm not lucky, so there's definitely a guaranteed Legendary in the first 10 Packs.
