While I don't quite agree with all of his points, (1) and (5) are valid, and (3) with discover is certainly an issue in the current meta. Discover used to have a trade off with less tempo, while there is simply too much value-creation with combination of cards and powercreep that some matches feel like they are being drafted while you play the game at no loss of tempo.
Some of the discovers are also quite consistent, so that you're cheesing out the limit 2-cards in a deck. The discover mechanics certainly needs a rework, or a change.
Dude i agreed on some of the stuff. The insult part u mentioned is not much of an insult but an obvious call to his ridicule on some of his arguments. A guy that says secrets should be visible shouldnt be on the dev team PERIOD. And this is coming from me a person that hates secret mage to his core.
It is tough with all these insults from people who don't even try to understand the concept of what would even happen to the game if secrets where visible but rather just attack the idea with some memorized phrase "secrets bring depth to the game"
there is no more depth to a secret card than any other card it just adds a element of uncertainty, you can never know for sure which secret it is with this large pool of secrets there is at the moment and therefor it is at best an educated guess. obviously some situations the secret it could be can be really obvious but it can also be a bait, an unfair advantage for some classes to have over others.
the essential problem with secrets being secret is because adds an additional elemental of randomness on top of the already random nature of the card game (random draw) same problem as discover or add a random minion cards brings to the game,
one may say that secrets have been here for a long time and it was not a problem before so why now? - because now the pool has gotten so big and there has been so much support for the secrets as an archetype that the small problem that it has always been has grown larger and it will just continue to grow larger and larger.
why don't you just run tech cards? - maybe if the selection of tech cards where better this could be an option but for both weapons and secret tech cards are horrible outside of their specific niche, some decks are so cramped that they simply dont have room for tech or in situations like big decks where they want big minions to cheat out, they can never run a tech minion because it will ruin the format of the deck
weapons and secrets are problem cards that should never have gotten the amount of support that it has or should get some way better counters that also works better in general, maybe the solution could be as simple as giving all tech cards taunt to make them less useless outside of their niche.
the thing about ideas guy is that it is really rough to come up with them and explain them fully, so when you see a new idea try to understand them or ignore them instead of attacking them on some vague notion that pops op in your head the the first 5 sec after reading it, try bring something to the conversation if you seek to be part of it.
