Yes, it is the same thing, but the opponent has to play around like 60 cards instead of 30, and you can never rule out a card because the opponent might have generated it. This makes the game more stressful and less satisfying when you win. They could mitigate a lot of it by adding some draw to few classes like Priest, there is a lot of space between 0 card draw and "draw your deck in 3 turns" card draw.
Priest has neutral card draw (deathrattle effects, which priest has synergy with) and cleric of scales. Paladin has hand of a'dal. classes have some card draw already. And my point about Priest spells doing certain things is that there's a band of things to play around. Priest minions are even more limited.
If your minions have more health than damage, or they have 4 attack, you're generally playing around what the priest player COULD have. But also... they could be playing literally anything in their deck? So I don't really see the point.
I love that there is much more card draw now. Good card draw. It means more choices. If a class is lagging behind it seems to me they just need either more value, more card generation or more card draw. I love that there are more choices more decisions more counter play. So to correct it give all classes more decisions.

I like the random generation especially in priest
