So lately I would disagree with the OP b/c all adventures this past year where a progressive deck building thing that was actually kinda fun, offered replay value, and posed occasional challenge. I thought Blizzard figured out a great system for creating adventures that its consumers really enjoyed- seriously create some new challenging scenarios, new hero powers, and new treasures and I would have been pleased as punch. But, THIS adventure, however, is mind numbingly simple, un-replayable, and drawn out. So I can totally sympathize with the OP and I wish it would be different too. This ‘adventure’ is just bad and I can’t believe that I have to wait 3 more weeks to get this thing over with so I can get all the card I prepaid for.
I like it more getting a card for a easy short games and after every game I won then playing more than 20 games against stupid op rng enemies and just getting a cardback I rarely can't see most of the time at the end of all. Btw I also don't have much time, playing about 30 Minutes per week atm. But I more enjoy getting something I could really use instead of garbage cardback. Theres absolutely no reason to play just for this. But for a good card it totally makes sence imo.
It's because the cards are a "Reward", not a "Free Gift". You pay / buy the adventure and if you do well in the adventure, you earn new cards as a reward.
It's like expecting a trophy for winning a race, but saying you shouldn't have to run the race first because running is easy and boring and you just wanted the trophy anyway. Sure, other people might enjoy running and they can enjoy the race if they want, but I should just be allowed to pay to enter the race and just get the trophy without the hard work of running first.
Yeah nice try but this is not the same thing at all. 99% of people buy the adventure for the cards. The adventure is so easy so it's not like the rewards actually mean anything. If you have a pulse you can probably beat all the bosses first time. Having to play through it to get what you bought is annoying. To me at least. You should get the cards without having to play it. No problem if they add some cosmetic stuff like cardbacks or even hero skins for beating the adventures but not the cards.
No, that's pretty much right... They are 'reward' cards... By your mindset the basic card set should be 100% available the moment you start playing instead of having to level up to collect them. Same with gold heroes, and card backs. You play the adventure, and are "rewarded" for beating it. The problem this time, is the adventure is thus far tediously easy. Hopefully the other wings are better.
No one is forcing you to play the adventure. Just like in many other games (especially WoW), you have to do tedious things to gain "needed rewards", and to level up.
This is just as bad as the people that kick and scream when they don't get free packs everytime they fart. You don't deserve anything. You are not special. You didn't buy cards, you bought a game. You play the game to win the rewards.

No, it's not the same thing. I get the leveling up thing and earning cards when you start playing HS. I actually enjoyed that part of it. Also no problem with earning golden heros or cardbacks, I actually like that especially that they haven't made the older card backs available again - kinda cool cosmetic reward for ppl who've played the game for a long time.
The thing is that everyone IS forced to play the adventure. You can't get the cards if you don't. That's the thing that bugs me. It's a waste of time. HS is not WoW. They are different things. Years ago I used to love playing games like Might and Magic and all that and leveling up. But HS is different.
This is nothing like people screaming for free stuff. My time, like everyone elses, is limited. I just want the cards so I can play a mode of the game I actually enjoy.

I believe it is. 99% of people enter a race to win the prize, rather than the enjoyment of running. And if the rewards didn't mean anything, you wouldn't want them and be willing to pay for them. I also don't think the difficulty of the adventure battles makes any difference to this point; and if you've played any of the previous ones like Frozen Throne, etc, the difficulty ramps up as you get further. It would be stupid of Blizzard to make the very first wing ultra hard and nearly unbeatable.
EDIT: It IS rather easy though, you're right about that.
Another slightly separate - but related - point, is that Blizzard has made the whole game (of Hearthstone) which consists of different modes/sections. They want you to play these other modes because they are part of the game as a whole, and they want you to experience the whole thing; so although some people may find them tedious or annoying, it is in Blizzard's interest (and all of ours) for them to add a breadcrumb/reward to these. This incentivizes people to play that mode (if only briefly) to experience it. That reward is a selection of cards that can be used in the other part of the game.
It's the same as Arena to an extent. It is a different game mode that some people love and some hate. But it is incentivized with the possibility of earning packs, gold, dust, etc. Otherwise, people would probably hardly play it. (Even if it was free)
I don't really think there is anything wrong with dangling proverbial carrots to players to certain areas of the game.

Couldn't agree more with OP, I don't have much free time in my life, and don't want to spend it on single player content after I've pad for the cards
Imagine console shooters where you have to finish the campaign prior to playing multiplayer. No one would be down

Anyone, my mom says I am special so naaaah!
