guys, as we all know, the ranked system has been upgraded in the past months, new 25 ranks were added to the game and the starts are less to pass between ranks. We now only got 4 ranks back when the season starts and not like 10 o 15 ranks like Blizzard did in the past.
Team 5 wants to call this a "progression" of the ranked system, which is focused in not to feel it like a grind.
But they didn't do anything beside this, they didn't go further into it, so I am bringing you this idea that came to me this afternoon, why not to set a new reward system based on the ranked system?
The rewards could be obtained only the first time you get on a rank, for example, you are new to the game and starts on rank 50, once you get to rank 49, you get something the first time you go up to that rank but you can't gain that reward again and it goes by that way once get a new rank you gain new stuff like Arcane dust, gold, card packs, normal and golden cards, legendary cards and anything that helps to feels that you are getting a real progression in the game.
15: Silvermoon Guardian: 2 Cardpacks (From any expansion). 14: Raid Leader: 70 Gold and 70 Arcane Dust. 13: Dread Corsair: 2 Golden commons (Any set) 12: Warsong Commander: 75 Gold and 75 Arcane Dust. 11: Big Game Hunter: 1 Golden rare, 1 Golden common (any set).
10: Ogre Magi: 1 Golden Epic (From any set) 9: Silver Hand Knight: 2 Classic Cardpacks. 8: Frostwolf Warlord: 1 Golden common and 100 Gold. 7: Sunwalker: 1 Golden commons and 100 Arcane Dust. 6: Ancient of War: 2 Golden commons.
5: Sea Giant: 1 Class Legendary (Classic set). 4: Mountain Giant: 3 Cardpacks (Any expansion). 3: Molten Giant: 1 Golden epic and 100 Gold. 2: Black Knight: 1 Golden Epic and 100 Arcane Dust. 1: Innkeeper: 1 Golden Epic, 1 Golden Rare, 1 Golden Common.
LEGEND: 1 Golden Legendary (From any set).
I hope you'll mind to read all these stuff, this rewards are just a concept of mine, does not belong to Blizz or any Hearthstone dev, if you think you could add or balance the rewards from any rank in particular just let me know, any feedback is appreciated.

So if you have already achieved Legend rank and if they were to implement this, you would get all the rewards? I don't think they would go for that lol. Sounds awesome though.

Yes, that's exactly what would happen, or at least it could be that players that hit Legend already must be set to 5 at the start of the season and get the rewards from that point. Or not to get any of this since this is a system I think helps the new players and is not supposed to help old players with the Legend rank in the past achieved, mostly because they don't need any of this.

I'm all for having good rewards for new players. But there should also be more achievements for older players. Even something as small as getting a small 5 pack bundle everytime you hit Legend, 4 for rank 1, 3 for rank 2, etc. Or maybe each month you reach Legend you can pick a previously released cardback that you never had the chance to get. Free arena tickets, etc.
If you are capable of reaching legend, then you almost certainly have full set(if not almost all the cards+ useful legendaries). Then why do anyone want to reward golden legendary to those who already have a collection. Its like giving more money to rich people.
On the other hand, low rank players do require those resources/cards for better experience in climbing ladder. Thats my two words on this topic. Thank you!
But sadly i don't think Blizzard will give hundreds of gold and dust plus a lot of cards and packs to all the "old" players at once.
And also the feeling of getting a nice achievement for something that you (maybe) worked hard for in that exact moment gets lost.
So probably they could implement an option where at the start of each season you could choose whether you wanna fall back the normal 4 ranks or you wanna start from rank 50 again.
So you can replay all the ranks ang gain the achievements at any time you want.
There's three major complaints (notthe only, just two that are relevant here) going on:
1. The lack of progression. That is, a good few folks do feel a drive to reach legend if they've never done it, but after that there's not really anything to pursuit. They don't feel like they can really push for top 200-100-whatever so they don't try, and constnatly regaining legend really isn't an accomplishment after a while (the floors didn't cause that, it just stop making it an insane chore for those that wnat to keep doing it)
2. The lack of casual play due to most people preferring to play 'the deck that wins' or 'the deck that climbs fast' over anything else.
3. The difficulty for new players to get their foot in the door and avoid feelinglike they are being bullied by all of the established people with full sets and years of knowledge.
Your suggestion doesn't help #1 as the drive for Legend is already there for folks who want some kind of drive and the rewards are gone once the problem of Progression sets in. It doesn't help #3 as it rewards people who already solved the problem, but is a carrot out of reach for those who actually need it. It makes #2 worse as it means people who normally stopped caring about ranking up will need to reach legend at least once for all of the rewards. A free golden epic isn't enough to make me want to bore myself to push for #5 with a good deck when I prefer playing at whatever level with meme or self-made stuff instead. A golden legendary though, and all of those other rewards might do it.
I'm not AGAINST the plan: more stuff is just a good thing. But it's one of those "This idea won't fix what you want it to fix" situations. It doesn't really fix progression as it, just like the Legend card pack, only helps the climb to legend. For those that don't want to climb, or those who already hit legend, it means nothing has changed. Meanwihle it causes issues with other problems not being considered.
I'm sure the public would overall be ok with it if it was retroactively set. But if your issue is adding progression, I think a full achievement system and encouraging those who reached legend and wnat something 'more' to either go for tournaments or push for high ranked legend would be better.

It's really not true that legend players has all useful legends. Some people reach legend playing a single deck.
Ps mind your tone. No need to write so aggressively.
Not bad but still doesn't fix the problem of grind. So far I hit legend once (top 50 wild) and that was almost year and half ago since then I only go for rank 5 because 40 dust is not worth that much grind and time. What we need is more gold per 3 wins, achievement system with rewards

One does not simply walk into Mordor,

Great idea, upvoted

Ironic. It could recycle others, but not itself.
So if i want that free arena pass at rank 20 does my rank need to be set at 25 or something?
