How do you use azalina in odd warrior? vs toggwagle druid? and other matchups too..i cant seem to understand how it works..or how to use it properly. Ty in advance
Against Tog druid you want to use it after they play their dreampetal florist. Your deck should run weapon removal for twig so as long as you keep your hand size low (playing around naturalize into togwaggle without azalina), dreampetal is their only activator for the combo. Doing this should either net you a 1 mana tog or a 0 mana azalina
If you get only togwaggle you will probably lose. Attempt to togwaggle/ransom + draw cards from the opponent's deck in the same turn to get their azalina. Thankfully, it's mathematically rare to have the opponent draw both tog and florist before azalina. If you steal yourself a naturalize and the opponent is stupid, you naturalize them on 8 cards, then togwaggle to keep their deck
If the hand has only an azalina, play her frequently to get updated copies of the opponent's hand. Sometimes a full board of 0 mana azalinas can end the game here if the opponent has no spreading plagues (which you should know if they do!). Otherwise tog will eventually be drawn but that just moves the gamestate to the below (Azalina + tog) scenario
If the hand has both tog and azalina, both players should have the cards to swap the deck back and forth forever, rendering deck sizes irrelevant, assuming no one screws up. One screws up by ending turn without a king's ransom or togwaggle in their hand, this leaves the opponent with the ability to dictate which side the decks stays. Once one deck is depleted, both players should play either ransom or tog every turn to force the opponent to take fatigue damage. This means the remaining deck will swap back and forth every turn but will never be drawn from, while both players will take fatigue from the empty deck continuously, effectively turning the game into a fatigue match with infinite cards in hand. Thanks to your superior hero power, you should win in fatigue. Dr Boom is not a good card in this matchup
Mirrored hands with Azalina on both sides are fun. You'll need to outsmart your opponent and there's no easy way to win but I can go over some general tips and tricks. Since both players have the same hand, you should know exactly what the opponent has and play around it. Use your entire turn to think of the best play. You can "delete" dangerous or annoying cards from the hands on both sides by playing it, then ending turn immediately without azalina after. This stops the opponent from getting a new copy when they play their azalina again. The only thing that matters when the game reaches this point is the board tempo and hero HP. Decks, fatigue and value are irrelevant
If your opponent is stupid enough to have naturalizes in their hand at any point make sure to abuse and delete via the above method them asap. With a 0 mana azalina, you can naturalize your own azalina, play azalina for a new one and repeat (ending the turn without playing the last azalina so the opponent can't do the same to you) to fatigue the opponent for 20 cards and win instantly. Even if the azalina costs 7, it's important to dump them so the opponent can't attempt any shenanigans
Against other slow decks, you want to use azalina just before the turn their key card is playable for the maximum chance to steal it. Dr Boom is nice but Gul'Dan and Jaina are superior in attrition. Other cards you want to steal include quest rewards, Rin seals and shudderwok. If you draw her too late to snipe a card or if the opponent has no relevant targets, you still want to aggressively dump your hand so that you get max value from your hand before destroying it. You want to play her sooner rather than later to decrease the chances of the Elise pack getting in the way. Try not to destroy any important cards of your own like Elise and direhorn hatchlings but if the opponent has something important that needs to be copied, don't be afraid to sacrifice them
Against faster decks, it's pretty much a dead card unless your hand is utterly terrible and you are desperate. Don't make plans to play her in a normal game
As a frequent Togwaggle Druid player (love the deck), i must admit that receiving the Odd Warrior Azalina treatment is quite the shock, You think you're about to win big time, then this card comes in and seriously screws your plan over.
