How about a system where cards given for free cannot be exchanged ? You can still convert them into dust/whatever but only cards you bought, whether by gold or real money, can be traded with other players. I guess it would greatly protect the system, but would players feel good about it? It could cause confusion as well and the UI needs to be clever about it.
The problem isn't just the free legendaries and the like. It's also the fact that you get front loaded with a batch of packs and gold early on and the fact that the first 10 packs of any set give out a legendary. As such, new accounts get a quick infusion of legendaries that can be easily exploited via botting. AND consider that one of the major sources of a trading system is in duplicates. That is, when I get 2 of the same legendary, I'll be willing to trade the second one for a reduced price as, otherwise, it would be worthless to me.
Both the lack of duplicates and the early legendaries are F2P elements, given to make playing without massive amounts of cash more reasonable. Those same mechanics either ruin the purpose of trading or help encourage abuse. Market based systems rely on scarcity (well actually they are a solution to scarcity). Systems with unlimited supplies, no matter the difficulty in obtaining that unlimited status, ruins the market. This is why MMO trading systems eventually fall apart without massive intervention and regulation.
Also I'm pretty sure the #1 thing people will want to do with trading is to trade those first-time legendaries with one another. "I got a mage DK. You got the Warlock DK. LET'S TRADE!"
To make trading work, you have to remove the elements that make F2P games work. If you incorporate both, you have to be ready to spend a ton on a loosing fight against exploiters. You can do it to some degree in an MMO due to how grinding and leveling works (and even that's arguable).
Here? No. Trading card game or Collectable card game. Take your pick.
I will throw out the lemma which says that any trade system that is not susceptible to becoming a farmer's market will also be too restrictive to benefit players.

It's very easy to say that Blizzard would never do this because they are a corrupt greedy company or whatever, but in reality multiple accounts completely break this system in such an unfair way. This probably won't ever happen due to the nature of hearthstone online.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
It never gonna happen
