Maybe they should add more unique quests. (and not make them so hidden)
So if you get every class to 20 you get X
For reaching rank 20 for the first time you get 5 packs. Or have bigger monthly quests, a lot of games (and I cant see hearthstone doing it) have a more robust check-in type system where you get big bonuses if you log on every day for a month. This is to get a bigger playerbase, but the point is, having unique starting quests would be really cool and could help make new players get more invested.
I like that idea. What if they make a new exp system that grants rewards similarly to leveling up a class. For example winning and playing games will earn you exp and when you max the meter it grants a pack and resets the bar so you can do it over again.
I feel I might need to mention this, but I am most definitely NOT a f2p player. I just feel bad that new people can’t enjoy the game as much as I do simply because of a lacking collection.
You have to be careful posting thoughts like this on this website because there's lots of hardcore elitists out here who hate giving any support to people who don't pay for the game haha.
This isn't the right solution though, because as people mentioned, you could completely disenchant your wild set and basically have 100% of the standard set at all times.
I wish they would do something about dust though. Maybe wild cards should be able to be crafted for half cost? So 800 dust to craft a wild legendary? It would allow f2p players to maybe more easily have fun in wild while building up their collection.
Or sell wild packs for less gold or something. I don't think there's much that can be done though. If you want to play completely f2p, you just have to realize you won't be competitive for a while, unless you completely dedicate yourself to getting as much gold as you can every day (by which I mean, pushing for that 100 gold cap all the time, which you simply can't do if you have any social life/work life lol).
Yeah, I realized I didn’t really think it through about where I was posting this until you said this haha.
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately about how hard hearthstone is for f2p players and while I’m not really a f2p player, I can understand the sentiment as I have been in the same spot before.
Typically most f2p players tend to focus on one game mode instead of both due to expenses for cards, so I was thinking what if Blizzard allowed full dust refunds on all cards from expansions that were rotating out to wild. This way f2p players can dust their old collection and can be able to keep up with the new meta.
1. There is no problem. However there are many leechers who offer nothing to this game who wants more greed.
2. You cannot trade with someone if you do not want to give anything. Asking for more free stuff and not paying for it doesn’t make sense. Perhaps Blizzard should simply change all quests to give 10 less gold? Would that make you happy? No? Then why would your idea make Blizzard happy?
I would be okay if it only took 2 wins to get 10 gold, and the 100 gold/day cap was increase to 150 or so. Maybe even more Arena and end-of-month rewards would be reasonable as well.
And then put three class specific legendaries in each expansion and increase the cost of Arena to 200 gold in order to balance things out?
This game has not kept my interest until i dropped 1000$ on it since KFT to catch up. I have been coming back and forth since beta and i always lose interest only after a few days because i feel like i wont be able to keep up. And after spending that amount and be able to cratf almost any deck i want i have been playing it everyday. I feel like this game gives enough to f2p players who have been playing for years, but for new players its just not. Its just impossible to catch up as a new f2p player
The absurd thing about this topic is the idea that a corporation owes ANYTHING to the completely free-to-play user. Unless you're a free-to-play streamer bringing more paying customers to their product, you are completely useless to Blizzard. You're the non-voter of the corporate world. When you are dedicated to your non-customer status enough to identify with the F2P label, your value is less than that of a person who has never even heard of Hearthstone, because at least they are POTENTIAL customers. Are you a brand ambassador even if you're not streaming? Maybe. But that's an awfully thin role to play.
A far more reasonable request is that Blizzard do more for the BUDGET players: those who are willing to buy the Starter Package (whatever it was called) or the Mammoth Bundle, but who are never going to drop $100 on packs for every expansion. They're willing to invest money into Hearthstone, but only at better-than-normal returns. Advocating for their experience to improve is a great topic because it rests on a basic logical foundation: that paying customers' equity in the product invests their opinions with value to the company. When I tell you how you can get more of my money, the rational action is to listen, at least to an extent.
So how about some ideas to improve the budget experience? What about guaranteed sales holidays on pack purchases for the week surrounding each major HCT event?
