I live on the east coast, and often play before work or during breaks throughout the day. I've noticed that in the early morning, around 6-9 am ET, playing is generally pretty good. People are considerate, opponents have a variety of decks, and the competition tends to be a bit lighter.
After 9, until around 4-5 pm, things change. People are rude, they troll casual with their legendary cards and pro decks, and along with that comes higher competition, of course. I don't mind the competition (although I do think it's kinda cheezy to troll casual with Miracle Rogue/Zoo/Control Warrior decks), but what's with the rudeness?
I just played a Mage and it seemed like a good game. We went back and forth on board control, and it was close. I had a Holy Nova to win on my next turn, and they pulled double Fireball and had a pumped Etheral Arcanist to win. A good, close game - until they didn't attack with the Arcanist and just started spamming their hero and waiting. I squelched them and they finally attacked. What was the point?
Anyone else notice a pattern of competition/attitudes/etc. depending upon when they play?
It's the same reason for my old apartment Comcast slowing down to unusable speeds around the same time: All the tweens just got home from school. So... yeah. Let the trolling ensue.
Isn't it obvious? The obnoxious kiddies get home from school.
Also, may I ask why you're wasting your time in Casual? Casual is great for testing out new decks -- especially if you're facing god decks purchased with mommy's credit card :) because, well, that's a good test! -- but little more. Play ranked. I think you'll enjoy it more.
Oh, and I didn't mean any of this in a rude way. Cheers!
I do play ranked, I just don't have a half dozen different decks that are good enough for ranked, and I need to finish my daily quest. So, rather than knock down my ranking, I take my less spectacular decks to do my dailies in casual. I do half wonder if I would do better in ranked regardless sometimes, lol.
For the most part before work and during lunch I have the most polite games. In the later afternoon it is a free for all. It easily could be different types of players at different times, but part of me believes it is just that patience runs thin for most people as the day wears on.
Overall, lately I've noticed a lot of people trying "Mind Games" on their opponents, wasting time during their plays or trying to bluff that they have lethal at the end. This also seems to occur more in the evening than in the daytime.
I agree mornings and early afternoon before the kids are out are the best times to play. I just squelch every game first thing so I can really say anything on spamming.

No offense taken :)
