I just don't get the point. The challenges are ridiculous and it only comes down to luck.
I understand that it is meant to be a challenge and that you gotta figure out a certain deck build for each boss. If it just worked like this it would be fine.
But right now I've been playing the Heigan challenge for over an hour and still couldn't beat him, even after using decks that are recommended in the guides. It's ridiculous how you have to play over and over again until you get the exact draw order you need and the boss just has bad luck. This is an RNG mess and not a challenge at all. It's just frustrating and pointless.
The Maexna challenge is also a joke as it just comes down to abusing the AI and then exhausting her, there's no other reliable way to beat her. So you have to play this challenge for half an hour repeating the same step over and over again. Really, man? This is shit.
I feel like Blizzard should really consider remaking those challenges, it's no fun at all. I had to spend an hour on Noth already until I finally had the RNG luck to beat him and I'm finally sick of this. I don't care anymore.
Defeated Noth with Vanilla control the drakes which is already a very old deck, Didn't have to alter nor change the deck in any way, tried it 4 times and defeated him 3 out of those 4 times, it means you can actually create decks with enough consistency for every boss.

Nobody is forcing you to beat the heroic challenges. If you aren't enjoying them at all just don't do them.
Nobody is forcing you to beat the heroic challenges. If you aren't enjoying them at all just don't do them.
This is the typical fanboy bullshit. Maybe I want the cardback. And maybe I want to get it without mindlessly grinding against a 1:1000 chance to get the right draw no matter which deck. My point is that even for Heroic there should be a possibility to create a deck that can at least win with a 1:5 chance. Trying the same shit over and over for hours is just retarded.
There are some bosses that are consistently beatable with a well thought-out deck, but some bosses in particular are just outright boring and require you to abuse the AI or force you to grind for hours praying to RNGesus. Besides I paid for this shit and want a way to get this card back with my skills as a deckbuilder and not as a goddamn lucker.

You are whining about a 100% cosmetic card back and I'm the fan boy? Hahaha wake up.
If you want a cardback, great, grind for it. If you've played ANY conventional RPG such as the original World of Warcraft, you'll understand the amount of hours and days that people spend just to farm up their gear, prepare for raids, etc.
Their version of 'heroic mode' is just the cardgame version of that endless grinding, and while it seems depressing because you're playing the same character, the time spent compares favorably to many RPG games.
Bottom line is there's always that legendary or insane or epic or whatever mode in games, and heroic mode is simply the hearthstone's variation. Crying about the difficulty to get a feature in the game you want is surprising because I doubt you get 'every single item' you ever hunted in any other game.
I cleared every wing with Heroic in about 1.5-2 hours, so maybe you just suck. Did you consider that you are too bad at this game and therefore do not deserve the Heroic cardback in which you are in no way entitled to? It's pretty hard to be too bad for the singleplayer AI but these people are out there, right? Just something to think about.
No, I didn't consider this, because I play rank 3+ since season one. But I've considered reporting you and your foul language.

And this is the reason why I don't play MMOs. I also don't see the point of grinding in a cardgame that is about strategy for a feature I already paid for.
Where exactly did I use foul language? Quote please. I and many people completed Heroic without problems, some challenges have to be tried multiple times but it is nothing that complicated.
If you tried for so long without any solution, it must you who is the problem. Sorry about that.
Lol man, you're a dick. If you think there's another way to beat bosses like Noth than having a 20/20 with taunt on turn 3 with a lucky draw, then enlighten me please. You seem to be a far superior human being.
Needing a bit of luck for the Heroic challenges to succeed is not false, but they're not so hard neither boring. Feel free to concede as soon as it turns really bad, I mean there's no point to keep going against Grobbulus when he just popped 2 9/8 Echoing Ooze. What else to say ? Just try harder and harder, tweak your deck etc ...
Honestly I agree. I get it's supposed to be hard, but the way they make it hard just feels cheesy. It's not really harder because the AI is better or anything. It's harder because the hero powers are more broken, their cards have even better stats and sometimes they even get free minions. The AI still plays just as good or bad, but it just has more natural advantage.
Especially the free minions. Then it feels like I lost because they have a ridiculous starting advantage and not because the enemy was a tougher opponent. It's those games where you have to have specific things in your deck to be able to counter them and if you don't draw them it's an auto-loss. Like Heroic Loatheb. Dealing with his taunter so you can properly board control and kill him fast enough requires you have an answer to it on turn 1 or 2, or you lose. So you're limited to playing something like Hunter or Priest and if you don't draw Hunter's Mark + Elven Archer/Boar or SW:P in your opening hand, you lose every time. Another example is Heroic Horseman. Need a combo to kill them quick like Preist with SW:P and Crazed Alchemist + Smite or Rogue with Crazed Alchemist + Betrayal or you lose.
And then there's how the opponent most of the time has all the best answers to everything you play, but every once in a while doesn't. So it really does feel like a game of chance where whether you win or not is more dependent on you and your opponents starting hands and draws than how well they actually play.
You make heroic hard, people bitch about it being hard, you make it easy and people bitch about the lack of content and that everything was finished too fast and wheres the fun in that....
and by the way Ive easily done each heroic boss in under half hour... so maybe the problem is at your end
I don't complain about it being hard, I complain about it being RNG hell. And I don't believe anyone telling me "I've beaten boss X in under half hour" before you post your exact deck here that you beat Noth with. It IS pure RNG. I also don't understand the suggestion of UglyBastard to use a freeze mage, as Noth deals 3dmg for 0 mana each turn to your minion on the left side of the board and starts with a 3/4 voidcaller right away. Freeze mage has almost nothing that can be dropped early that can soak up the damage and then take over control. So not only do you start at a massive disadvantage that you have to catch up to, you're also put 3hp behind on each minion you drop which makes it even harder. The obvious solution is to drop a Stoneskin Gargoyle to soak up the damage, as the AI will simply ignore him and you can safely drop minions after this. But Noth consistently keeps buffing minions and drops new creatures at such a speed that it is impossible to catch up unless you get that lucky draw to buff one minion to 20/20 with taunt real early. If you can't taunt up, he will beat you dead by turn 3 or 4.

That's what I meant, you've put it better. Thanks.
even after using decks that are recommended in the guides
...lol...
so why not play the game for yourself and come up with a deck better than the one you stole from the internet?
Serious question: Are you retarded? Because that's the single most stupid post in this thread yet. It think you've missed the whole point of this site and the features Hearthpwn and its community offers.
Y'know, when the card back is released, everyone will use it and it'll become as bland as the green, the red, the rainbow and the current naxx one. I couldn't care what card back I use, until i get that juicy legendary one ... some day. it's the only one that really means anything tbh.
I have about half of the heroics completed, the ones that had me pulling hair out I've abandoned. When it stops being fun, just leave it ... it's not a race, you have all the time in the world to come back and re-try later. Or not at all!

i dont know about that, because personally, i am ENJOYING the game using my method. That method of course being playing the new content BEFORE going to the internet to tell me exactly what deck i need, then tweaking my deck as required if i don't beat it immediately.
personally, i dont even understand why you would play at all if you just copy a deck from the internet and then go beat everything using that... maybe if you have tried your own deck and realized you cant figure it out you can check for some advice, but just midlessly copying? that is probably why you arent having any fun.

You can't even read. I didn't even say that I didn't try my own decks, because that's what I did before ultimately resorting to Hearthpwn guides. Please stay away from this thread, I feel embarrassed for you.
This thread might have had some valid discussion if both the original poster and the people replying to him had stayed civil. Since it seems this thread's participants can't discuss matters without getting insulting I'm just going to close this thread.
Next time stay civil if you want a thread to stay open, and report people that try to steer it wrong.
