Hey, I may be missing something, but... What are Golden Cards? Are they just golden versions of regular cards? No difference? Because that seems like the most stupid incentive. (Same with Golden Portraits)
I honestly don't understand why people are having trouble with this. They are essentially the foils of hearthstone. They only change the look. But eventually they will all be animated. Also the animations are amazing as of now.
This is most certainly not my first TCG/CCG. Foils means nothing because, who cares about them unless they are better versions of the card, or rare cards? They are just shiny... >.>
At least for the physical games foil usually means: Selling for double and more to foil collectors. They are a rare kind of collectors, though. But still, there are people wanting foils. I don't need to have foils, but always like to get em. Sometimes cards only exist as foils, YGO remade their entire rarity listings around foiling (this game still is boring).
Anyone who doesn't need golden cards, just can dust them (or ignore them, if they are basic/promo).

Because they bring nothing extra, but cost multiple times as much. I remember way back in school when Pokemon TCG was a thing, and getting that Charizard from a pack using my lunch money. Shiny's don't really feel like they matter as much now though, especially considering it's 100% online.
tl;dr - We're not all magpie's / foil collectors ;p

Why is there so much hate on gold cards? They look amazing, why wouldn't you want them?
Personally I like some of the golden versions, and am looking forward to collect those.
If you don't like them, simply dust them, then craft non golden versions :)

I didn't know that only they had animations. Thanks. There is less hate now, but still wish there was more haha.

I never understood foils in real cards. Digital foils are even more of an abstract idea to me.
It's simple marketing. Collectors will buy more packs to get the foils. I'm sure you'll see people play all golden decks in the near future.
