I just don't have the patience to rank up through mirror matches and priests and mill druids/rogues and troll decks, so I tend to hang out at rank 20 from conceding too much which is my thing, I own up to it and accept it. Anyways, is it aggro? If so, what flavor of aggro is most efficient to deal with the random hodge podge of rank 20? I have found that top tier 1 decks don't work at rank 20 because the meta is so inconsistent, except Secret Paladin which I'd prefer not to play because that deck has been around too long in #1.
Honestly, getting to rank 15 is about making fewer mistakes than your opponent. Play a deck that is considered "good," and play it thoroughly, and you will climb.
A lot of people assume they are playing properly, but many are not.
Know the common builds for your opponent's class. Know when you need to be the aggressor and when you need to survive. Know when you can't win the long game. Know when you need to burn resources and when you can save them. Know when it's time to abandon the board and focus on 2-turn lethal. Know when your opponent can reasonably burst you next turn. Know what your win conditions are. Know when to stick to your plan, and when you need to adapt to the scenario. Know your opponent's removal options and try to reduce their value. Etc.

Like the problem I'm having is when a rogue plays Silent Knight and then Blood Knight, stuff thats completely outside of any meta that still somehow works because this is Hearthstone and even the stupidest crappiest ideas have use wow thats great anyways...The issue is people are playing stuff that's so far out of the meta that actually works, like that retarded Blood Knight/Silent Knight combo.
When doing rank 20 for gold play a fast deck. I win 9 out of 10 games with Face Hunter / Face Shaman. If I have the time I will play RenoLock or a fun deck.

Tempo Mage will get you boosted up the ranks. Aggro is face decks - Hunter / Shaman and now even Warrior.
