Even with the effect it falls a lil bit too much being a turn 6 2/5, even if its designed to be an anti aggro-hunter-like? card. At the worse case would expect it to be 3/5 or 4/5 to be on the line.
I think you're right, 3/5 would be fair and 3 attack is needed against mech mage.
It's also supposed to be useful versus combo decks that burst prior to lethal and hope to finish you off with a fireball or eviscerate the next turn etc.
It's very weak as it is. Even as a 3/5, it would be weak—the heal isn't likely to land for more than about 10 even in the best of circumstances, and in a lot of games, you'd have to drop it for a minimal heal or no heal at all. Plus it's just too expensive for the role you've imagined. Many people consider the 5-mana Sludge Belcher too slow against face hunter, and this is more expensive and arguably worse.
Anduin Lothar is a warrior in lore >,< I guess he will be the alternative to Grommash if Blizzard introduce replacement to warrior hero in form of Varian Wrynn.

EDIT: Please consider as a 3/5 rather than 2/5.

Also, Lothar wasn't a paladin.
