Anyone else thinks that the cards are way too few?I know that are nearly 500 if I am not mistaked but in every damn game i see the same and the same cards. What do ya think?
I am still new to the game, but personally I do think that this game could use more cards and variation. But on the other hand, it is still fairly new, so I look forward to the changes in the game in the future.
Back in the beginning of the Beta days, people where saying this kind of stuff already, I remember some long time MTG players saying that this is normal for a first set. Ones the expansion sets get added more viable decks will surface, it really made sence when I read there reply's to be honest.
I'd love to see more variety too. BUT ... think of a game like Texas hold 'em poker. There's only 52 cards ... And there's 1000's of combinations of start hand alone possible.
Well in every CCG, there's going to be people releasing popular and good competitive decks. So what happens when people release this deck with a title of "Control Warlock, 95% winrate LEGEND rank!"? People make that same deck and start using it and it just snowballs from there. This game is going to sit at a solid standpoint for competitive decks UNTIL they release an expansion because they aren't expecting to change anymore cards unless it's 100% necessary.
Also quoting from above, a lot of these cards in the 500 aren't even worth looking at so people never run them in any deck, not even a fun deck. (Wisp, Felguard, Kidnapper, Savagery... You get the idea.
People take the best and most popular cards and slap them in a deck and boom, you are seeing the same few cards in every game. (Argent Commander, Defender of Argus, Harvest Golem, Azure Drake.. Yeah you get it. And whats the best thing about these cards? They are cheaper than a soda back in the 60s, so almost everyone is bound to have some if not all of those cards.
I do agree though, the lack of variety is killing me in the high ranks and I might just go on a casual spree because i'm sick of seeing faceroll hunter almost every game. That deck is so ridiculously boring and I have no idea how people play it all the way to legend.

I see... only darkness... before me

There might be a lot of cards, but since not all of them are worth in a deck.. you will see the same everywhere.

Yeah to be honest 500 cards is not a bad number, but as i said.. not all of them are worth.
