But it's value isn't in necessarily landing it on board. My biggest point about it is that on critical turns such as turn 5 (which preludes Blizzard and Flamestrike) you can achieve a free mini-hellfire by drawing 4+ cards (AI + Acolyte activation, or AI + Hoarder trade for example). It's another possibility of turn 5 sweeper besides the Doomsayer + Frost Nova combo. Besides, Flame Leviathan + Frost Nova at turn 10 just after a turn 9 Alextraza may not be as broken as Antonidas, but surely will make the cut.
Could be alright in a control deck but being uncontrollable as to when the effect happens is a huge problem. Especially if you've just been brought down to 1 HP even if you have Ice Block up, just drawing this card would kill you since IB can't activate on your own turn. Despite that, 7/7 for 7 is really only average at best.
I could see the potential risk of the odd occasion when you might kill yourself with it being worth the potential reward of clearing the opponent field for free if it had more favorable stats, IE if it was a 6 drop for the 7/7 or similar. But as it is, it's an uncontrollable effect that is only potentially useful in a control scenario that is too risky when you're just left with a War Golem afterwards.
No way man. With such a card then Flame Leviathan would become too broken, since Control/Freeze Mage would always draw him with the spell. It would be a spell which gives you a free Consecrate plus a War Golem to your hand.
I opened a FL last week and currently can't test him, but I'll find some room for the guy in my Freezing Mage list and see how it gets. Like I mentioned before with the draw engine of Freeze archetype we may increase the chances of getting it on the critical turns we'd need him - making the awkward Ice Block scenario less likely as well.

Hate mages? Have you seen all the other mage cards? Mage is probably the class with most decks that use tons of class cards and very little neutrals
Hearthpwn Community's Balancing of Cards.
No it's not. At least Shaman and Druid do use their class cards more than Mage

I think Blizzard pranked us with this one, they know the Archmage is much more useful now. But, giving us an unplayable card?! DansGame
Yeah, they all had Kappa masks on when making this card.
So is it troll that the 2 x legendaries I got out of around 60 packs are these 2 x boat anchors
[card]Flame Leviathan[/card]

Should I melt them both?
If Flame Leviathan is a legendary then Explosive Sheep should be one as well.

I think Blizz should add a mage card, "Draw two mechs from your deck," in order to make Flame Leviathan viable.

This card should deal damage only to enemy minions, then it can be a bit useful in some rare cases. Right now it's a complete trash.
