This seems good, 7 mana 7//7 with upside. Although this is also true for Prophet Velen and he is bad, so not sure. iSinti brings up another good point, the tokens don't specify minions, so if one is used to clear the final minions, it's just free damage to heroes.
The key thing is that this guy generates instant advantage unlike Velen because he summons other dudes (And they have Deathrattles that ensure you will at least get some damage off, even if the opponent both kills him and AoEs).
Yep, Velen is "bad" because normally you're setting up for something (mind blast, Holy smite etc etc). Dr. Boom summons 2 minions that can be a pain to deal with if you don't have silence. You don't need to combo him with anything and since the bombs explode in your opponents face you don't need to wait to play it (it won't be a dead card in your hand).
I think that the range 1-4 damage is really good. If you sacrifice your bomb into something the damage potential raises to 2-5 (1 attack from the bomb + 1-4 from it's deathrattle). It's a gigantic help to clear the board or push some damage up
Another nice thing about Dr. Boom is that his Boom Bots are fairly useful even without their effect: Most notably in my head, they allow Dr. Boom to trade with 8/8 minions simply by ramming, which combined with making it hard to snipe him makes him nice vs. Rag. And even when they're silenced, putting out 9/9 for 7 even split among two 1/1s is nice.
And finally, something good about the Boom Bots is that they are usually something that just isn't good enough to be silenced, even if you really wanna silence it, because the silences are needed for the Cairnes and Sylvanses that will usually be in the same deck as Dr. Boom. It really makes him quite tricky to deal with. Even just something like Hex on him doesn't deal with him totally because he stlll has two tokens, kind of like Onyxia in that regard but better due to being cheaper + Boom Bot deathrattles generally ensuring something happens.
It is also a very good card together with Undertaker: You will get 2 deathrattles with it, so when you play Undertaker and Dr. Boom, you get at least a 3/4 Undertaker together with 2 1/1 and a 7/7.
i like this card. so far, the best 7 drop legendary. it doesn't matter if it's a 7/7. you won't really care if it gets bgh'd when you have a safer ragnaros drop next turn because of him. nice art as well and tons of synergies for this guy. my favorite g vs g card so far.
This card makes War Golem obsolete. But then again War Golem will probably be turned to a Mech

War golem is not turning into a mech. It is made out of magical rocks not gears and whatnot.
If this is true then we have our first strictly better card. Its hard to understand but basically unless you want 3 7/7s War Golem is now officially useless.

Not entirely true, War Golem will still be decent pick in arena. So from whole game stand point it isnt useless.
Psh its not a straight upgrade to War Golem! It gives your friendly hunter pals some Unleash the Hounds synergy! But really unless theres a mech-hate card introduced in this set that gives your opponents benefits in some way from you controlling a mech then it is likely to be better than War Golem 99% of the time... but its not as if people are running War Golem as is outside of Arena anyway so...

I can't tell if you are joking or not, but Boom Bot will hit a random enemy when it dies so that could easily backfire on the hunter.
I was joking but in any case of that you'll have to trigger them regardless if you don't want to waste two silences on free 1/1s unless you intend to win the game that turn without answering them.
This was my single legendary out of 15 packs plus the free three packs. So far, he is much better than I expected, as I was initially disappointed when he appeared.
I play predominantly Shaman, and even in a shaman deck, he has been very useful. Once I used bloodlust the turn after dropping him, also had 2 surviving totems on the bloodlust turn. That is 4 dmg per bomb bot, even if the Dr Boom doesn't survive (he did in mine since all removal was used up earlier on uncontested Dunemaul shaman and a Rag I dropped the turn before...p.s. you HAVE to do something about a Dunemaul on a cleared board...). If I use the bots to attack minions, you get the extra damage from them, otherwise they do 8 damage to face and STILL stick around for a flametongue or anti-AOE mechanism. Pretty amazing little card, I must say.
Another time I dropped him right after a Rag was dropped, as others suggested, then got a lucky 6 dmg crackle on the Rag, and at the end of his turn after taking out my Dr Boom, yup, you guessed it, Rag hit the boom bot and did the remaining dmg to take out Rag. Hilarious.

Play him, next turn drop Baron Rivendare, kill the bots for 4 1-4 damage, profit 8D
I think he has great potential and he's pretty much the 7 drop legendary a lot of decks probably want.

Now maybe Baron Rivendare too and you get 2-16 Damage.
Now that you mention it... I surely remember him
He was the fun guy for dps testing back in the days :)
this card is slightly too good for its cost, there must be something to it
in World of Warcraft : The Burning Crusade, netherstorm zone quest have the player kill Dr. Boom using his own bombs
the warning might not just simply flavor text

Giving WG the Type would seem to fit with the lore!

Not so. Boom Bot specifically says it hurts a random enemy.
Well, I'm sorry, but you're 100% wrong, the boom bots can only damage enemies, they are purely beneficial.

I swear I read that War Golem is indeed being retrofitted into a mech. Wasn't this confirmed at blizz-con?
Actually that was confirmed to be false at blizcon. Wargolem is not being changed.
