my top 5 would be roughly: Leeroy, Ragnaros, Cairne, Alexstrasza, Tirion
next 5 would be roughly: Thalnos, Grommash, Black Knight, Ysera, Sylvanas
while Thalnos is great value, he's easily replaced by kobold geomancer (yes you lose the card draw, but you also gain a body that can't be hero powered and that trades with most 2 drops and even some higher drops), and while Black Knight can be a huge swing, he's also pretty situational and loses some value against the tide of cancer decks that are popular right now, so I place them in the second half of the top 10.
if you DQ Tirion and Grom from the list for being class cards, I'd probably replace them with Baron Geddon and Malygos. in that case I guess I'd probably go ahead and bump either Thalnos or TBK into the top 5, though I'm not sure which one. Thalnos depends on your deck, TBK on your opponent's. On that grounds, I'd probably go Thalnos, as while it may not be right/included in every deck, you're actually choosing it for you deck, and are more guaranteed to get value if you do include it, whereas TBK is insurance that may or may not get much or any value.

I don't think that's accurate, as I'm playing in the higher ranks and most of the decks are running a plethora of taunts. Even if you do end up facing aggro, every variety runs at least one Defender of Argus, so it's extremely rare for me to have a game where The Black Knight isn't utilized.

Kobold Geomancer has a value similar to Bloodmage Thalnos, but Bloodmage Thalnos has a really better artwork. Imho, Kobold is an ugly card. Also, Bloodmage is a legendary, so, value++
that's a much different thing than saying it doesn't lose value against such decks, which it indisputably does. yeah it might hit a voidwalker or a taunted up knife juggler or something. that's certainly getting some value, but much less than hitting Tirion, or a Sunwalker, or an Ancient of War or something like that. its also a reactive card. you could play a yeti and have a frostbolt/lightning bolt/etc in hand for a future small or sunfuried/argused taunt against a board with no taunts at present (or use it against a current small creature and then use that yeti to take out a small taunt later), whereas you can't do that with a black knight. of course you DO gain both of those in one card at the expense of that utility, which is certainly a great thing in its own right. but I'm not claiming its not a great card - I did still put it in the top 10 after all. I'm just saying its situational, both in the types of decks it has value against, and the board states it has value being played on. I don't really think that's anything approaching a controversial statement. indeed you can say the same to some degree about almost every card, including every other Legendary being discussed. most other cards though you say "I can't really play this in this situation" whereas TBK you're saying "I'm only really getting value in this situation", and even if that situation isn't exactly uncommon, I think that's enough to push him into 2nd 5 territory, or borderline top 5 at the least. that's all I'm saying.
EDIT: derp, I hit quote on the previous post only to type my reply in the other box. oh well lol
Rag is just too clutch late game to not pass up. Add a faceless manipulator and there you go!

There are a huge number of druids with big taunts and handlocks though so I think TBK is still more often than not a valuable card
