I'm not sure if its just the way I'm using it but so far The Beast has been a waste of mana everytime I've attempted to play it in my hunter deck. Its such an incentive-filled target for opponents to remove that I rarely get to swing with it. What are the best uses for this card? I need reasons not to dust it.
The beast hasn't been playable for a long time. It was extremely good back when unleash didn't summon doggies and instead gave all your beasts +1 attack and charge. At the moment though it is just a worse version of corehound.
I have been trying to make The Beast work in my hunter deck.. It basically just gets eaten by Big Game Hunter, Priest Spells, or becomes a huge target since it actually helps the opponent replenish a minion.
Only time it has been usable for me has been one turn eight, and I used my owl to silence The Beast. And I also was able to squeeze by a turn six drop and buff it with a hound master for a quick finish.. Other than that it has hurt me more than helped me, thinking about DE and crafting something else.
The Beast can be useful in a midrange Hunter deck by Houndmastering it and giving you an extra target for your doggies, especially vs. control where the extra doggie might be key.
Just theorycrafting here, I don't have The Beat so I can't even try this.
What about in watcher-druid? You are already running silences to be able to attack with your Ancient Watchers, why not have a secondary use (getting rid of this deathrattle). Probably not viable now, but perhaps once we get more deathrattle interaction cards in Naxxramas?
Just some random thoughts.
Edit: Whoops, scrolled past Eagle1's post; basically the same thought as him.
I agree with Dr_Smash. For whatever reason, people act like giving a 3/3 to your opponent is the worst thing in the world. The few times that I've run up against the beast, Finklehorn was NOT a godsend. It's yet another target for removal, so if having The Beast killed gives you a Rag or Alex for longer, more power to you.
I was thinking about putting the beast in my handlock deck for an amazing turn 10 shadowflame
9 damage AOE at turn 10 to clear the board, leaving a 3/3 for enemy
Or you could just Power Overwhelming into Shadowflame.

If you find my posts to be rude, objectionable, or whatever, well, I got tired of writing polite TL; DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) posts at crybaby whiners. So now I just make it short and nasty.
If you find that funny, well and good. If you find that sad, that's even better.
This article lists Millhouse as an underrated card so your argument is invalid. :D
On a more serious note, I agree that the Beast has and will have some uses. IMO playing the priest Silence on it isnt a bad move, but other silences arent that good tempo-wise.
EDIT: Seriously someone who writes this: "Now, what about when he is dealt with? Well, the most common slayer of Millhouse seems to be Swipe. This is a 2 Mana card, trading up for a 4 Mana AoE spell. It’s a 1:1, however the mana cost of the spell far out weighs the mana cost of Millhouse" doesnt seem a person who actually read Millstorms text...
The author realizes that the cost is free, but it still consumes a 4 mana spell on a two mana minion. Millhouse entices your opponent to use their spells early, thus making your later game more secure. Just because they didn't need to pay for it doesn't mean it isn't beneficial for you if they use them. Additionally if played early the opponent might not even have spells anyway.
On Topic: The beast is simply fantastic for drawing out removal. With 7 health he's difficult to remove, requiring either a Big Game Hunter or deadly shot, or otherwise buffed spells. 9 attack means opponents will absolutely want to deal with him, which might force them to use a polymorph or hex, which negates the beasts drawback since you need to expect to lose him that turn regardless.

Aye, Corehound is free, and almost as good. Better in fact, as it gives your opponent nothing when it dies.
Both vulnerable to BGH of course.
Live the Tundra Rhino dream!

O'd rather save it for leeroy wombo combo next turn tho
I once had Millhouse coin-played at turn1, while I was playing zoolock, with only spells in the deck poweroverwhelmings and soulfires...
About the beast I'd consider it amazing in a control hunter deck. Turn 5 tundra rhino ->t6 the beast can pretty much decide games, given the chance.

Not devoted enough to spend money/lots of time , but still like being somewhat competitive
Peaked at rank 3 couple seasons ago, usually around ranks 10-5 at the end of seasons (unless it's been a busy month irl)
