So, I'm not that good at arena. I mean my gameplay is 'fine', it still needs a lot of perfecting and tweaking, but I feel like my real weakness is drafting. I do use HearthArena companion to help me a lil' but still I don't feel confident in my drafts, nor in my ability to use the knowledge of my deck type and synergies in order to better my playstyle in the current match. So basically gamesense.
So if anybody would like to add me and spectate my game or just watch some game replays and help with their own experience, my acc is CyberFruit#2397 thanks a lot <3
I was watching that thinking you were doing fine and then you won and I was like what's the problem? Then I watched it again knowing you were the other guy and ya, that was rough lol
There is no easy way of getting good in arena I'm afraid. You can watch streamers and get a hook but still, to be a consistent arena player, you need experience. And a lot of it.
People can give you a few advices here and there, watch a game and tell you what did you do wrong etc. But ultimately every single game in arena is different, you need to create a game plan on the go. It's not like constructed where you can learn a deck and every match up of it in 50-60 games. You need thousands of games to master arena.
My friend all you need is practice. Drafting is really important. There are some cards that are very strong in arena you have to pick them. Class is important also. Paladin, rogue, mage, warlock are the best right now. And the meta is very good for arena. I get easily 6-10 wins every time. If ia have time I will add you later
Usually the biggest win rate correction would come from improved game play. The best way is by game reviews with peers or just by posting a replay.
Focus while your playing and avoid distractions.
Try to play classes your comfortable with.
Keep up with cards that are meta relevant and what cards to expect on certain turns, etc.
There isn't a hard rule for drafting, a lot of it is experience, which cards work and which don't. Then trying to make it all come together. My advice to you is to NOT follow Heartharena blindly. Use your own experience to make the picks. Yes, HA will agree with you at times, but you really need to question every choice it makes and whether you agree or disagree. It's okay to try out certain strategies too so don't be scared of that.
In regards to your game play - Honestly you played fine. Turning point is turn 9 where he kills your guy for free and plays a 6/6. At this point you have no board and you have to deal with a 7/4 and a 6/6. Your hand is bad and his hand is good. It's not hard for anyone to lose from this point. Could you have played differently? - Honestly, not really. You could play Holy Nova and Messenger to trade into the 7/4 and kill his 6/1 so that your 6/5 can keep hitting face. In which case you'll just get shut down by his Spellstone + 6/6 play. There isn't a way for you to win this game unfortunately. So don't be so hard on yourself. I do see some suspect cards in your deck - Twilight's call, Demonlisher, 2x Kobold Apprentice are probably picks i'd re-evaluate, but often are best of the rest type picks. Not sure about other picks but I can tell you didn't get a lot of top bucket options.
T6 i would have traded into Pinata with Roc. It would most likely lead to him playin Elise + bombing the Roc and you could trade away Wargear into Elise and have Coffin Crasher up. Next turn you would have a 6/2 rusher that would trade into anything he played. I think T6 was the turning point that could have made a lot of difference in this game. Obviously you dont know what he had, but in general, id prefer to trade than to go face in this situation (even tho i can understand that decision). He could have had a buff card or hard removal (which he did) to get rid of the Roc and that would have been bad for you (which it was).
And i dont agree with T9 at all lol, you left a 7/4 divine shield up hoping he doesnt have 2 damage? that is a risk that did not pay off, nor it should have had honestly. I would holy nova and trade and then you have three options how to get on the board: 3/2 dragon, demolisher or twilight call. I would probably develop demolisher and hoped to hide it behind taunt next turn. He would either have to spend a removal to kill the crappy 3-drop or take some hits. Either way, you would be in a much better position than just hope he doesnt have a way to deal with your taunt.
T10: why would you play 2/6 Messenger? you could have used that next turn to get rid of one of those big guys. Playing Twilights call would give you more fighting stats, since you would still get the same 2x 1-attack, but the eggnapper would spawn another two 1/1s, helping you set up Holy Nova. Messenger was a complete waste of a "hard removal" here.
I hope you dont take this too harshly, im just trying to give you my opinion. No one is perfect and we all make sub-optimal plays. Obviously your opponent had a better hand, but there were a couple plays i would have made differently. I do think that T6 was where it started to go down hill for you. The game could have gone in a different direction, since you would be in the board lead and your opponent would be playin catch up.
Thank you everyone will make sure to put more thought into my gameplay and draft :)
Sinti, actually that was really helpful and I see what you're saying. realizing where exactly I was wrong helps know where to get better. This whole "board lead-> catch up" thing is new to me so thanks for enlightenment :D
You need a good knowledge of drafting system, so you can predict your opponent's removal, aoe or tech cards. For instance, you should be playing around Blizzard and Meteor when facing mages.

Looking at your join date here, you may be lacking Hearthstone playing experience. I go into more depth in the post linked in my signature.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
Lul been playing on and off since Curse of Naxx ;-; thx tho will check it out
My heart ;-;
Then what I posted may not be the case. It all depends on how much game play experience you have.

For me it helped a lot watching Kripparian or Trump arena runs ... I'm not so good but i have an average 7-8 wins per run.
That average probably puts you in the top 50 leaderboard positions every month.
Not sure what your idea of "good" is, if that isn't good.
