I've been winning this with a straight up Turtle deck, as many on curve taunts until turn 9 and bring out the big minions and sneak in some low cost giants.
One thing that can make or break a game is the sheer luck some people get. Played against a priest just now who got both Shield Slam and Shield Block as random cards from played minions. The synergy between the two is obvious -- but in this brawl, one without the other is useless. Spending 3 mana to draw a card instead of gain a minion AND a spell is pretty bad. And shield slam without armor is bad. But getting both... fucking RNG man.
I found out that if you insta concede whenever you see a mage opponent, this brawl can be really fun!
Yeah but even then every deck runs 2x summoning stone. While nowhere near as stupid as flamewaker, it does sort of get old.
My secret tech for this brawl was to put Pandas in my decks lol. Panda SUCH VALUE. Get back silenced summoning stones, get back big drops, get back battlecries and you get more spells when you replay the minion.
Next level. Still useless against Flamewaker, the brawl-ruining card of the week. Oh well, hopefully another coop brawl next week, that'd be awesome.
Didnt like this brawl, only did it once to get the pack. Problem with this is it takes way too long. Brawl is just instant quick fun, if i want long control games i play ranked. DId like 5 games and everyone of those took over 15 mins each. Hope next brawl is better.
Summoning Stone can get pretty old, true. I have two of them in my deck but I actually rarely use them. The two cards I despise in this format because of the ease of use is Flamewakerand Mana Addict. Disgustingly easy and OP.
Then there's the people who missed the memo about the format of the deck and basically brought their regular deck into the brawl -- hunters running their normal weapons and secrets and hounds. Jesus christ.
Seriously Tree of Life is the only 9 mana spell in Hearthstone so it's a guaranteed drop. Just play Soulpriest the turn after you drop your 9 mana minion and boom, end the game for everyone. Have fun trolling!:)

Pandas rule, but they tend to get useful past t6, when you've got your stones out, your probable Loatheb out, etc. I have found out that it's easier to plain rush your opponent down, with a bunch of 3-4 drops into fireballs/roars/whatever. My secret tech was Reckless Rocketeer, drop t5 stone, t6 this into possible FoN+roar = oneshot. Even if the stone was silenced/removed.
I definitely underestimated this brawl initially, thinking it was 'just another RNG-fest without much creativity'. One of the more fun brawls we've had in recent history, IMO. And while there are a few cancer decks (largely the mage variants with Flamewaker, Mana Wyrm, plus all the neutral goodstuffs), there's enough variation within the brawl that there has been plenty of chances to have fun with it.
I certainly hope they bring it back again at some point. Brawls like this are far better than stuff like Crossroads.

But what about Auchenai Soul Priest and a 9 mana minion to drop Tree of Life?

There is a lot of steak here...
