Really, I destroyed my only 3 opponents as boombot and lost the 1 game played with annoy-a-tron. Maybe it is just in the play style?
Just like Kripp said, it's all based on luck and variance. Both sides have some Tempo, Control and Aggro cards so play-style will influence win-rates. However, better players can readily adapt their play-style based on their opening hand and what they topdeck. All these factors ultimately boil down to RNG in the long run though.
Boom bot sucks. Too much RNG that never seems to swing in your favor. I always miss with the ogre weapon and that fucking mad bomber always hits the wrong target.
You also need a solid early game hand to win as boom with lots of early removals.
I had the "Win 5 Tavern Brawl games" during this match-up and I lost quite often with both Annoy-o-tron and Boom-bot, but I did eventually get my 5 wins. It was fun however, as you never know what was going to come out of it.
I liked last brawl so much better than this one. Something about duping your opponent to attack you and then just keep clearing the board was very fun to me. Normally I play aggro but those long drawn out matches were just rewarding. I sat in Brawl then entire time it was open as a lock.

The easiest win ever is actually not to handle early game, but to wait till turn 8 for Nether/turn 6 Bomb. If you they overextend enough and you clear 3-4 minions, most of the time there is no comeback for them.
Kripp is speaking from that "better players" mindset you talked about. But for the average player RNG and play style impact the game.
I'm definitely not a "better player" and found Annoy-o-Tron's deck to be easy to win with compared to Boom Bot's. But then again I play mostly Paladin, so go figure.
Boom Bot seems like the "come back from behind" deck. I've lost pretty consistently against him for a variety of reasons...
1) My board gets wiped out from Twisting Nether. Everything I've invested into board presence is removed.
2) Dr. Boom comes out. Sheep is in play. He kills his sheep, the boom bots kill my 7/4 and 4/2. Thanks!
But of course when I'm playing Boom Bot and my opponent has an 8/4 with taunt and divine shield and power word: glory out on the field, and I have twisting nether in hand, I'm only at 6 mana and can't cast it. Awesome.

That'll do, Huffer. That'll do.
Only win against an annoyotron was against a noob lol...but then 10 wins with annoyotron,12 games total

Is this even random? I've been f****** boombot all week and I've lost every match.

Thinking about it, the decks are pretty balanced, but in most salt-inducing way possible. I'm not sure if this brawl is genius or totally awful.
