Is the duels balancing team asleep? There literally isn't one run I play in heroic where I don't fight an Omu. Marvelous Mycelium is probably the most broken treasure out of any hero's because it's literally a win condition most of the time, not something that just helps you win. Duels is just littered with Druids, Guffs, and Twigs. As much of a problem as Twig-Sphere cheating is early game, it wouldn't be that much of a problem if Guff wasn't around. What the hell are you supposed to do most of the time when your opponent plays Twig on turn 4, then Guff and Sphere on 5?
Banning Twig would completely ruin Quest Elise, but having 16-17 mana while your opponent has 5-6 isn't fair at all. They finally removed Dragon Affinity but failed to address the real problem: Druids. Either Guff has to go (best option), or Twig of The World Tree.
I agree, but Plaguebringer with flames of kirin tor shaman or Demon hunter with Plaguebringer is even bigger cancer IMO. You dont see it so often but its very uninteractive and with most decks you have no way to beat it. But yes Druid is too good in duels now. Mycelum is super cheap high value and anti fatigue card all in one and plays that you can make with it combined with Guff and twig-sphere combo are insane.
I agree on the Plaguebringer + Kirin Tor one. However, the last 4 times I've played Fireheart I haven't seen Plaguebringer once, so as broken as the combo is I think it's whatever given its rarity. Stelina too; I've gotten the Plaguebringer token spam before and it was really strong before I was stopped by another Mycelium Omu.
Yeah druid is out of control for sure. Mycelium is a one-card win condition that just lets you run a deck completely full of card draw to quickly get to a godmode endgame of an infinite supply of broken cards while sitting at 20 mana. Being able to have 20 mana in such a crazy format like duels just shouldn't be allowed really. The twig>sphere combo is so powerful that elise is the second best character (because she doesn't have mycelium) because getting 16 mana on turn 5 is the top bullshit in duels - it's quite alarming how fast they can complete the shard quest. To add to it all, druid has a really high likelihood of getting mending pools which allows them to heal tons every turn due to the large number of spells played, and spreading saplings which gives them easy board presence while doing druid things.
Twig needs banning and mycelium needs reworking to not go infinite. Guff should probably get axed too but at least it'd be less insane without twig. If you could always choose your class for duels, I'm pretty sure omu would make up 80% of the format lol.
FYI plaguebringer+flames doesn't hold a candle to druid with "oops all spells". Get that combo and it's the free-ist 12 wins of your life. Here the opponent is going into their turn 6 while I am about to have 20 mana, have decked myself and gained over 30 armor. And they're an aggro deck. Seems fair.
