Red Whelp feels really unfun in my opinion in battlegrounds. The two issue I feel is wrong with the minion are One: Its Random and Two: It is at the start of the turn.
These things make red whelp feel really crazy, it kind of defeats the point of building a board and placing minions to the very left when a red whelp can kill it before the battle even starts. The name "BATTLEGROUNDS" Suggests minions should not die before the battle phase which seems a bit against the game where they are sniped randomly before a minion attacks. Placing minions strategically like Barons, Soul jugglers and Pack leaders all to be randomly killed and decide the game before it starts just feels bad imo.
Now i am not salty as i have won many a games with the Whelp as I have lost them, but I generally want to see what people think and if you guys think Whelp might need a change?
Red whelp is fine. It is only decent when tripled in a full dragon lineup. Soul juggler is ten times more oppressive mid game.
You usually lose with red whelp early game.
I see what you mean soul juggler is much more crazy at times, however I never called Red Whelp Oppressive, I called it too random that can decide games given the right situations, which imo feels wrong to have a card which can decide a game by random chance.
I also hate the randomness of this card, but if you look at it pragmatically, in the mid-to-late game a Red Whelp will kill off your Soul Juggler or other key card and destroy your whole plan 2 out of 7 times, but will simply occupy useless space on the opponent's board (14 damage + 3 stats is extremely weak in the late game) the other 5 out of 7 times. So yes, you will occasionally lose to some unlucky RNG, but in the long run you will be winning. So if you consistently encounter players that have builds with Red Whelps till the late game, you will consistently see your MMR increasing

Red Whelp loses value in the endgame pretty fast. Endgame is not even right, the value drops pretty fast.
