So far, after seeing the very few cards already released for the next expansion, I just wonder if the Blizzard plan is to help tempo and midrange decks.
So far, we know that we have a new dragon mechanic, in which you benefit from having dragon cards in your hand. This implies in keeping cards there to get the bonus and playing them at the right time. Since most of the dragons are big minions (4/4 or better), I believe that this mechanic won't fit into fast aggro decks with lots of cheap minions.
Also, there is the new Shaman card that unlocks overloaded mana crystals, allowing for some nice combos. The best ones, however, tend to involve mid-late game cards and strategies.
Of course, this is just speculation, and we have yet to see the rest of the cards. But I think Blizzard is just trying to give more tools to help midrange or combo strategies, since nowadays either people will run full aggro for sor full control decks.
7/31 new cards is too early to make any judgements. And I see more aggro and midrange decks in GVG, or I guess all of the control decks are far up in the rankings and I don't see them.
The new shaman card seems more like a control card so you can play earth elementals. With the exception of the crap legendary, the rest of the available cards seem more midrange.

Both Naxxramas and GvG ended up favoring faster decks.
Based on what we've seen so far, I think Blizzard is very much interested in slowing things down.
