ManaGrind is proud to present the return of Swiss Format play!
The Swiss format is the gold standard of most TCG's and we are glad to bring it back to the Hearthstone community after countless feedback from the survey. We at ManaGrind feel that Swiss tournaments will allow players to get more matches per tournament and have a greater experience overall for differing levels of competitive play. Please make sure to read all rules.
Specific Changes from other format.
1. All players must be on our TS3 for this tournament. (TS3 info: ManaGrind.com) You do not need to have a microphone, just need to listen for instructions.
2. There is no sideboard, deck swapping, class swapping. What you bring is what you play!
3. Each preliminary round is BO1. Once the top 8(less then 58 players) or top 16(58 or more players) are determined, those players will play against just each other in a BO3 rounds till the finals.Finals are BO5. Please note that losing one round does not mean that is it. In Swiss you will get 5 or more rounds of play. It is possible to lose one round and still win the tournament.
4. Top 8 or top 16 are required to submit a screen shot of their decks to the Tournament Admin.
Yes well at 6pm est that is looking to be about mid night when it ends...At 9pm EST that would be 3 am my time. Thats a tad late to deal with. though in the future we may consider a later time, but it will not be 9pm EST
Ok, so after some debate and review. We at ManaGrind have moved the NA. tournament back to 7:30 pm EST. This means it will start at 4:30 PST. We hope this change will be more agreeable to our community and that. EU will still be held at the same time.
Errmmm, each opponent I face during swiss I can choose any deck I have, I go for a Bo1 and I can use another deck for the next opponent, it doesn't matter - but what about in the top8/16 playoffs? What deck do I have to submit? How many classes can I play, only one? If only one, can I sideboard in those Bo3 games?
Also, no prizes right?
I would suggest you read the rules as this is not at all what they stipulate. It's 1 deck no sideboard and if you are caught altering your deck or using a different deck you will be auto disqualified.
The deck rules are a little vague in these managrind tournaments. I've figured out the rules, but not without a little guesswork. I suggest you be more explicit in your rules section regarding decks. As of right now, bullet point #2 in the OP could be interpreted multiple ways, and the screenshot for top 8/16 only further confuses things.
Instead of this:
2. There is no sideboard, deck swapping, class swapping. What you bring is what you play!
Try something like this for next time:
2. All players create a single decklist for the entire tournament. There is to be no sideboard, deck swapping, class swapping between rounds--what deck you play in the first round must exactly match all sequential rounds.
The only reason I bring this up was that even on the Saturday tournaments I've talked to people and noted a bit of confusion regarding deck construction/modification rulings. Not trying to cause problems, just attempting to help you out by providing feedback.

The rules are very clearly stated on the Challonge page in details. The post here is simply to promote the event and is not a rulings list. Though I appreciate you are trying to help, thanks!
does the signup close at 5:45 PM CET for the EU tourney? Wanna make sure, cause i don´t want to signup right now since i don´t know if i´ll make it out of the office in time.
I apologize in advance if i haven´t seen it in the rules and it was totally obvious.
In general we would recommend you sign up as soon as possible. The fact you will have to have a class icon to indicate what class your playing does take a bit of time as well as making sure you are in our Ts3 for attendance. If you sign up and can not make it, no harm no foul. If you try to sign up at the last minute and you miss attendance then you will not be allowed to participate.

We look forward to seeing you there and wish you all good luck.
Sweet I'll see if I can make it!
Makes it kind of hard for the PST players to attend if it's at 3 PM PST. Would be much better if it were at 9 EST so it's at 6 PM PST.

So cheesy ;)
We are currently looking into possibilities of pushing the NA time a bit later. Updates to come soon.
