I havent found much that beats it if it draws well. Maybe Priest/Pally with a lot of Taunts. Mage running certain secrets should beat Hunters hard, but Flare counters it. As a Hunter Unleashed deck player, what gives you the most trouble?
Mage Armor increases the difference a bit. But yeah as everyone else said, you need more than 1 taunt down (they'll play owls when they make their move).

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.
Basically everything that deals dmg to all minions counters it. Abomination, is pretty nice counter, Wild Pyromancer + whirlwind or arcane explosions or any other spell too can brake it if opponent can hold the initial push that is....
Nonsense. The combo is designed to kill you instantly, giving no time to react. You will not hold the initial push if you don't plan ahead.
You have to have several taunts up all the time from turn 6 (don't rely on just one, he has TONS of options to kill it), and pray he doesn't have a Flare available (in case you're a Hunter or a Mage). But chances are that he has anyway, so... Most of the time you just have to do it right and pray it works, or rush him down before he can do the combo. Neither of them works in a consistent basis, it all comes down to who has the better hand: Him or you.
Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Can't wait for nerfs.
I know it's a narrow situation but I'm loving all the fotm UTH decks in mirror matches. I got bored of the coin toss that UTH OTK decks were and I started messing around with a heavy control hunter and mirror matches are just a joy watching them unleash right into an explosive trap and then rage quit the match.

Yea, that's awesome. Doing the same right now, Hunter heavy control with some taunts and King Krush as main endgame finisher.
I actually just dropped king krush, I guess it's something with my OCD or how I used to meticulously balance my mtg decks, but while I understand the point of only allowing one legendary per deck, man it just irks to me to no end having odd percentages of a card draw in a deck. Also I felt that in a control deck losing options due to a high mana cost that basically locks up all your resources for a turn was counter synergistic(honestly thought I made this word up but spell check proved me wrong go me).

Indeed it is, just dropping it and going for the face isn't anything about control. But he's just too awesome not to use, IMO.
The problem I ran into with him the most is that at his cost I dont necessarily have the option to run him to the face always. I don't have enough mana with 10 to drop a removal on a pesky taunter and play him so its a matter of trying to get him at with an open board which doesn't always line up and there's other ways to smash the face without wasting turns. I guess it's a matter of consistency for me.
Reckful's mage deck played at the innkeeper's invitational scared the living crap out of me (3 star masters beast hunter player). Imagine spending your entire hand on one rush and you encounter 2 consecutive Ice Blocks. Mages have a lot of stalling potential that could pose dangerous to us beastly hunters. Always expect hunters to hold one or two silence minions in their hand so try to keep out 2 average tanks out by round 5.
The OTK/UTH is very gimmicky and is all the complaints about it made it take on this life of it's own as some juggernaut archetype. Most players have found workaround for it but all the initial hype created a galvanized community of people that
A) panic when they see a hunter and thus make rash decisions while playing against UTH that it seems better than it is.
B) hordes of fotm players that gravitate to net decking and playing a deck they think is a free win that they don't truly understand how to play. This leads to a meta full of decks that are gimmicky at best being played sub par on top of that.
By the time a potential nerf would roll out I suspect that most of the hunter decks will have moved away from this strategy anyway and blizzard internal data will show that the archetypes ghost on the forums will be far more prevelant then its actual presence in the game . Resulting in a minor nerf at best if not being completely forgotten in light of some new "OP" combo that arises somewhere else.
Taunts and rush are really the only options. Truth be told if the hunter can pull the cards by turn 6 or 7 there isn't much you can do to stop it. The biggest opponent for the deck is RNG.
Paladin and Priest are decent counters because of their ability to heal (Paladins have lots of minions). Paladin is also good because of the secret, Noble Sacrifice. Also, he has things like Sunwalker and whatnot (ignoring silences).
If you can manage to survive the initial attack (only possible if you keep your HP up). you can use Consecration to wipe pretty much every single thing on his board. Priests have the AOE heal/dmg.
If you have anything to say, opinions are appreciated.

For any class if you can get down 1-2 taunts before turn 6 and keep them there it will be a decent stop for a Unleash deck.

A Priest deck with Holy Fires, Defender of Argus, Abomination, and Sunfury Protector are essentially a hard counter.

Yabba
I rarely lost to OTK hunter as a heavy controll shaman granted I have so many taunts before turn 6 that he will cry removing them.
Priest with holy fire, 2x defender of argus 2x sunfury 2x holy nova and abom. Easy hard counter.
