'Elementary Dear Watson' - Synergy based mid/long range elemental deck.

I have been working really hard, play-testing and refining this deck, and with this version I have a 62% win-rate as of 10/12/17 1:05am (bear in mind I have played 40+ games with this archetype since the expansion dropped, but I've been tweaking).

Druid: Wins 1 Loses 0 - this win was due to The Darkness, as a counter to Jade.

Hunter: Wins 1 Loses 1 - this game depends on drawing Plated Beetle and/or Tar Creeper on curve.

Mage: Wins 0 Loses 2 - this is unusual tbh, Mage is usually a safe game.

Priest: Wins 2 Loses 0 - easy win, too much for priest to deal with and The Darkness messes up highlander.

Rogue: Wins 1 Loses 1 - aggro rogue is hard to beat unless Plated Beetle and Tar Creeper bless you with their presence on curve. Mid-range Rogue is usually a fairly easy win.

Warlock Wins 2 Loses 0 - Should be a fairly easy game, and warlock likes to draw so The Darkness is good.

Warrior: Wins 1 Loses 1 - same as rogue.

This deck is all about flexibility and synergy, this is not an auto-pilot deck! Therefore there is no fixed game-plan, it depends on your opponent, but you should be able to respond to nearly every deck type. The key synergies are:

5+ Spell

  • Arcane Artificer, don't let its price-tag of (1) mana fool you, this card can win games, only use this minion without a spell if you really need to, or for an activator.
  • Raven Familiar is excellent draw card, be careful that you don't remove Dragon's Fury's target. Also pay attention to your opponents spell in the joust, as it'll show what archetype they are playing.
  • Arcane Tyrant, this card makes Firelands Portal a huge swing, allows you to keep the Elemental train rolling but don't be afraid to play it full cost if you need to.
  • Dragon's Fury, this card is the whole reason for having only 5+ spells in the deck, a 5-7 damage board clear for (5) mana is insane.
  • Blizzard, this card could be swapped for another 5+, but seems to test better than the alternatives I have tried.
  • Firelands Portal, let's be fair, Firelands Portal is kind of broken in how good it is, extra point for playing it on turn 9 with 2 Arcane Artificers on the board.
  • Dragoncaller Alanna once you have baited out the board clears with your army of Elementals, drop 28/28 worth of stats on the board, across 6 bodies.

Leyline

Leyline Manipulator, the card of the hour. However, don't be afraid to play this without it discounting anything, a 4/5 elemental activator for (4) mana is good by itself.

  • Any minion returned to hand by Freezing Trap etc.
  • Pyros tokens, worth trading him into stuff just for this effect.
  • Igneous Elemental's tokens, never underestimate the power of a free 1/2
  • Zola the Gorgon, anything returned to hand by her, gets the discount.
  • Servant of Kalimos's card will get discounted, bonus points for picking up a second one from the first.

Used to have spell generation for Leyline as well, but there is still a lot of aggro in the meta.

Zola

Zola the Gorgon is powerful in this deck, she can be used very flexibly but the really good targets are:

  • Arcane Tyrant, the copy will be free as well, meaning you can Firelands Portal then Tyrant for free, copy the Tyrant with Zola and play another one.
  • Blazecaller how could you be better? You could be played again next turn, a simple but effective option on turn ten and makes your opponent squirm.
  • Servant of Kalimos is the go to for value plays - extra points for getting another Servant of your first.
  • Dragoncaller Alanna if she survives a turn, which she wont, and is she does you have won anyway.
  • Coldlight Oracle, for when you really really need that draw/mill, can be helpful for triggering The Darkness.
  • Literally anything else in the deck, pay attention to what you need. You should never be playing her onto an empty board, unless you really really need a 2/2.

Have fun and let me know how you get on, any feedback would be appreciated.
