The patch is here and Small Time Buccaneer is nerfed. So what's the state of Pirate Warrior? Obviously the early game is far worse than before, and that's the weakness of the deck now, it's much harder to get good draws early, but that leaves room for some stronger cards later like Naga Corsair and Southsea Captain, so even though you no longer have a god tier 1 drop the deck is still very viable.
But who am I to talk all big and mighty? I might not be an amazing player, but ever since beta I've mained Warrior, with two small tournament wins playing mostly Control Warrior. So I've played every Warrior archetype there has been, during every patch. So trust me when I say Pirate Warrior is NOT dead, and will probably continue to sit among the most played classes.
Mulligan is very similar to before, you just have a bigger focus on getting 1 or 2 drops like Southsea Deckhand, N'Zoth's First Mate, Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Bloodsail Raider and Fiery War Axe. Also keeping a Dread Corsair with a Fiery War Axe is a really strong start, especially with the coin.
Edit: Hobart Grapplehammer is probably a good card to run since the buffs he gives are very strong and synergise very well with the deck, and would help a bit with the early game. I just don't have the card, because I don't want to craft a non-golden version (I have almost every Warrior card in gold) and therefore don't play it myself. It is definitely not needed for the deck to work, but if I had it I would replace it with a Naga Corsair or Mortal Strike
Post KOTFT Edit: As much as I hate the deck at this point, it's probably still viable. Replaced Sir Finley Mrrgglton with a second Southsea Captain, but you could put in Hobart Grapplehammer, Acherus Veteran, Bloodsail Corsair or almost anything else. It's almost unchanged, and it's as braindead as always. (Actually even more braindead, since you don't get to choose a new hero power). Looking forward to next year when the cards rotating out hopefully kill pirate warrior once and for all.
Loving this deck actually.
Had been playing Pirate for a while, I actually like this one more.
Just had a mage Reno with 5 life left on turn 7 and end turn. My turn, 30 damage.
I get card starved every fucking game its annoying.
Pirate warrior is so easily countered.. Any control deck or with enough taunts have advantage. The only win condition is a good card draw against an opponents bad hand.
Good joke
An average priest deck.
Seems pretty good to me, just got to legend with it.
rank 14 ?! Nice joke
Any replace Sir Finley Mrrgglton ?
Add another [card]Southsea Captain[/card] if you have it.
I don't know what it is, but whatever deck I play, people have the counters. I got sick of losing so I decided to try this deck but with morcica's changes. I won a few easily, but a whole bunch in a row I got shamans who just dropped every taunt in the book and healed face. The rest were dragon priests who play taunt after taunt.
There are styles you will have advantages over and styles you will have disadvantages against. It is almost as if the meta for Hearthstone is fairly balanced! Sorry you cannot build your easy-mode dream deck.
It is so true! The games I lost I wonder why don't I ever have those hands when against a pirate warrior? I feel like they know their next match is pirate warrior so they counter it lol.

I hit legend with almost this exact list, except I had -2 Naga Corsair, +1 Southsea Captain and +1 Flame Juggler. Seemed to have worked pretty well.
Thanks for the tip about the flame juggler, working wonders in mirror matchups
No problem! I experimented with [card]Hobart Grapplehammer[/card] instead of the juggler, but I feel like despite the synergy, this was stronger. Maybe get rid of the second [card]Southsea Captain[/card] if you want to fit him in, but this works fine as is.
I do love the amount of hate on this, like seriously I find it amazing. Keep going, rebel against the meta!
I have no intention of playing this deck myself, I just posted it to see how people would react. And to those who really hate good, easy to play decks, why are you making it worse by giving this one popularity?
Thanks for all the feedback, upvotes and "constructive criticism" I have recieved :)
