PLAYSTYLE

Murloc Paladin is a deck that makes use of the card Anyfin Can Happen to generate a board full of buffed, charging murlocs to kill the opponent. The deck's gameplan is to survive during the early game, draw during the mid-game, and finish with a burst of damage in the late game.

The arrival of Ivory Knight from Karazhan has helped the deck gain consistency, as it can discover another Anyfin Can Happen, increasing the odds of playing it at turn 10 or improving the matchup further against the control decks. The deck often packs only two different murlocs: Bluegill Warrior and Murloc Warleader, while filling the rest of the deck with draw, removal, and healing methods.

Murloc Paladin manages to survive against the onslaught of aggressive decks with the help of Forbidden Healing and Truesilver Champion, while also out-valuing the Control Decks with Anyfin Can Happen, making it a solid choice in the meta.

META

The meta has been rattled by the nerfs and have left Murloc Paladin dropping down into tier 3 on this week's tier list. Mid-Range Shaman has become the clear deck to beat in the format, with it not having a clear counter, and that greatly affects Murloc Paladin's success. Though this is the best bet out of the viable Paladin decks to beat Mid-Range Shaman, it is still not a great matchup.

Mid-Range Shamans have also started to include Bloodlust, which greatly skews the matchup heavily in their favor. Murloc Paladin has more success as a counter to control decks that are trying to take on the impossible task of countering Mid-Range Shaman.

Control Warrior stands as one of the few deck that has a decent shot versus the deck, and this is where Murloc Paladin shines. If played correctly, this matchup should be a good one, since you use your minions to try and keep the armor in check, then burst them when you have had all murlocs die. Warrior has gained popularity, and this can help you climb with Murloc Paladin if you are in the same situation.
