Greetings!  I'm a casual HS player, usually hit rank 5, 1x legend.  Last night I was sitting at 470 wins with warrior.  I decided to build a pirate deck to get to golden warrior quickly.  To my surprise this deck proved to be very effective, with a 71% winrate in 3.5 hours of gameplay on the standard ladder.  The deck's current record is 30-12, and I climbed from rank 17 to rank 10 with 5 stars. I had one screwup that cost me a game (I said I'm a casual player!), so the record should be 31-11.

<Ok, I tried to post images of my stats vs. other classes here but can't seem to do it.  If someone can help me out I'll do so>

 Gameplay / Strategy:

This deck has a pretty decent learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's easy to play.  Attempt to get a weapon up early, either with N'Zoth's First Mate, Fiery War Axe, or Upgrade!.  Control the early board, and make smart trades.  Don't be afraid to drop Southsea Deckhand or Bloodsail Raider even without a weapon in play.

The absolute key in this deck is knowing exactly when to switch tempo and exclusively attack the enemy hero.  Know exactly how much damage you have in your hand, and how much damage you are likely to draw.  There are 19 cards in the deck that can immediately cause damage to the other here, 20 if you get a damage ability from Sir Finley Mrrgglton.

Use Heroic Strike, Mortal Strike, and Leeroy Jenkins as finishers. but don't be afraid to use them a turn prior for setup, or even to clear a threat.

Ironbeak Owl is almost exclusively for clearing taunts, and I typically save for late game use on a finishing turn.  You have plenty of other damage in your deck to clear early taunts.

Matchups are pretty good across the board.  I batted at least .500 against every class.  Worst matchup seemed to be control warrior, believe I was 1-3 against control and 2-0 vs. dragon warrior.

Mulligans:

Not too complicated here.  Against every class keep N'Zoth's First Mate, Fiery War Axe, Southsea Deckhand, Blood To Ichor, Upgrade!

I've been keeping Brawl in my starting hand vs. hunter, warlock, and shaman, with good results.  I also keep Heroic Strike vs. Shaman for early removal of Totem Golem.

I had planned to go for my final golden this weekend (Rogue), but with the success of this deck I'm going to see where it can take me.  I'll update if it proves viable above rank 10.

Feel free to shoot any questions my way.  Happy to watch you play and give pointers.  Good luck!
