Protect yourself as your devotion to C’Thun grows. Amass enough armor that your opponent’s efforts become futile before the Old Gods!
I really wanna try to include my golden Malkorok in this deck and Justicar as well any replacements ? tnx
This loses fairly easy to C'thun-Renolock
Ancient ShieldBearer SO GOOD FeelsArmorMang :D !
Added Justicar, Brann, and the most important, BRAWL. And it's a pretty good deck
Control warrior main here - played around 50-60 games with this deck so far and impressed. It has a lot of potential. [climbed from 25 to 7 in 2 days since standard mode came out)
Regarding Justicar and Brann.
I actually don't think either card fits well here given both are more suited for control / slow play. The main point of this deck is to gain board control win mid-game and buff / get cthun out as fast as possible. Card draws via battle rage, acolyte, and slam are critical piece of this, so not sure if it makes sense for give up both battle rages.
If you're heading into fatigue range, its pretty difficult to win with this deck unless you can doomcaller your cthun back (which to me is not reliable esp with spells like entomb, hex, polymorph, etc).
So Doomcaller is not necessry you're saying? Why not replace it with Grommash, Alextraza or Ragnaros?
Well with alextraza, you get the enemy to 15 then cthun can finish him off usually, but that very situational.
I play Cthun but not this specific deck. Justicar and Brann help tremendously in mirror especially Brann since both play slowly so you can save it to Cthun buffers on turn 10. If anyone play Cthun too early, the other will remove it easily.
Start to pressure him with your 4+ drop to try to bait executes on Veklor/Shieldbearer/Worshipper (he'll use it to prevent value unless he run black knight) or slam on 4/2 divine shield. Later on, your mirror just has no way to remove 20-30 Cthun when his board is empty except destiny yolobrawl (shieldslams do 0 and he cant weapon up execute it)
I also run Gorehowl and Alexstrasza and they work fine. Ppl dont expect her to be played in this meta, which give me unexpected lethals/fatigue win. Against other decks, I agree that it is definitely tempo/survival match.
I used this deck recipe just to try some of the new cards and was really surprised how well it worked. The only thing I really question is the inclusion of Twilight Elder over Beckoner of Evil. I generally only got +1/+1 out of the Elder before it died and ended up hurting for the extra needed to trigger Ancient Shieldbearer.
Battle Rage.
lol. I also noticed that immediately. Just shows why you need to be careful on hearthpwn. Upvotes often mean v.little.
You need to add Brann and Justicar.
Definitely digging this deck. I never really play Warrior so I'm struggling with my mulligans... Any suggestions?
Thanks a ton!
Mulligan for early game (obviously). Vs face decks (Shaman, huntard) keepArmorsmith, Fiery War Axe, Ravaging Ghoul and Bloodhoof Brave. Vs control keep C'Thun buff cards,Shield Slam,Execute, Shield Block and Acolyte of Pain.
Excellent, very helpful! Thanks a ton!
Eek... Yesterday I went on a win streak to rank 16 with this deck... Today I have yet to win a single game and have slid back to 19.
Can't say exactly how many games I've played, but it's not much. All I know is I haven't lost yet...might be like 7 games, or 8.
Awesome deck buddy! Carried me through 3 high ranks in like 2hours now!
But i kinda feel like i need a second Doomcaller!
Let me know ur opinion!
Cheers
looked this this morning after the patch went stable on EU , tested it , and had more fun on the game than ever on my life , Deck is very strong.
