Greetings.

Welcome to my quick deck guide of my home-made tempo priest I've been using to climb the ladder recently. This deck is very versatile and can be played either as an aggro deck against heavy control decks, or more of a midrange deck versus aggro decks or midrange decks.

Gameplan

The deck focuses on board control and you won't be playing it as a face hunter deck, meaning that you'll actually trade as much as possible while maintaining a strong board. Cards such as Piloted ShredderNerubian Egg and Dragon Egg are great since they're harder for your opponent to clear off. Remember that you don't want to have too many minions on the board at the same time in case your opponent have an answer in form of an AoE clear card such as Flamestrike or Lightbomb

Playing a tempo priest deck is good since it makes for a surprise for your opponent, who won't be sure what to expect. Another thing that I've found very useful is that capabilities of the priestclass to keep your minions alive with your hero power as well as Power Word: ShieldVelen's Chosen and Holy Nova which makes trading even more efficient.

Matchups and mulligans

Generally you want to keep Dragon Egg, Northshire Cleric and Flame Juggler versus all matchups where you aren’t sure if the other one is playing a heavy control deck. Versus for example a warrior who generally are more control likely to play a control deck I’d consider holding on to Piloted Shredder and Power Word: Shield.

The hardest matchup to face in my opinion is definitely any type of Reno Jackson deck, while most aggro decks such as face hunter or aggro shaman is pretty easy. Fortunately for me I’ve not encountered too many Reno Jackson decks recently and I’ve managed to climb versus all the aggro shamans out there.  I still haven’t figured out exactly how to play versus secret paladins, but I’ve got around 60% win rate against them at the moment.

Hit me up with any questions or suggestions and tell me how you’re doing with the deck!
