Hey guys, my name is Philipp aka pwny#2752. I am playing on EU and have been streaming since a good month I'd say. I have tried to hit the legend rank early this season and constantly adapted my decklist to the hourly-switching metagame.
This deck has brought me to #5 Legend right in the first days of the new year. (4th, January 2016)
Just a friendly reminder: This deck has already been published and hyped a few seasons ago but I still think that it purely fits in the current metagame and that's why I am promoting it. I switched 1-2 cards from the well-known list and substituted the Shades of Naxxramas for an Argent Horserider and an Acidic Swamp Ooze as this annoying fellow insanely helps against weapon-based classes (if you don't face Paladins, Warriors, Hunters or Shamans too often simply swap the Acidic Swamp Ooze for a second Argent Horserider). UPDATE: Added Sir Finley Mrrgglton for a Leper Gnome.
I came to the conclusion that Aggro Druids have often worked like a charm against Secret Paladins and pretty even but more like 65 %/35 % against Midrange Druids (these were the decks I mainly faced).
The winratio with this deck is 72 % at the moment.
(Matchup-chart listed from best [left side] to worst [right side].)
- Favored matchups: Secret Paladins, Midrange Druids, Aggro Shamans, Warlocks, Freeze Mages
- Even matchups: Hunters, Rogues
- Unfavored matchups: Warriors, Control Paladins, Murloc Paladins, Priests, Tempo Mages
Strategy:
1) The mulligan with this deck is pretty simple: Always keep Innverates and Darnassus Aspirants on your starting hand. Play on curve and be annoying.
2) Sir Finley Mrrgglton: Aim for the Warlocks or Hunters heropower, depending on your game state. If you find yourself having a Savage Roar on your hand and a stable board you can also go for the Shamans heropower as it provides possible healing and more combo potential.
3) Abuse the curve: Manipulate your mana with the cards mentioned in 1) and always think a step ahead to get your bigger minions out 1-2 turns before your enemy does.
4) Don't (always) save your Savage Roar for the combo: Often it is just more valuable to already play it on turn 3 when you have 2-3 token established on your board.
5) Consider silencing your own Fel Reaver with Keeper of the Grove as Zoolocks or Tempo Mages want to fatigue you with their low-cost cards.
6) Keep board control until turn 3-5, but don't desperately fight for it (depending on every matchup). At turn 6 you can start going greedy to finish off your opponents within 2 more turns.
PS: I really appreciate the way Blizzard balances it's matchmaking system:
This deck is awesome but I'm have trouble with zoo-demonlocks as they overcontrol the board. Any typs?
I'm really loving this deck. Don't have a Loatheb though. Any replacement you suggest? Right now I'm using a Big Game Hunter in its place.
omg getting rofl stomped with this started mid rank 14 now am 0-6. feels bad
so u r doing something wrong or u r just REALLY unlucky ;)
I could very well be messing up some how. Not sure what to do against all the priests and mid range ive been seeing
Hey Pwny, thanks for the deck and write-up. I will try your suggestion of -2 Mounted Raptor +1 Acidic Swamp Ooze +1 Argent Horserider.
I'm wondering, though, how does this deck do against Renolock? I'm seeing a ton of them around rank 5 and just getting slaughtered no matter what deck I play. I figure this deck might handle the Reno and Secret Pally meta I'm seeing, but not entirely sure. Thoughts?
Fel Reaver was losing me more games than it was winning so i put in spectral knights instead, so far so good.
Also with this deck the curve is pretty good so I often found innervate being dead in my hand. Also endgame it has little use since you'll most likely have a close-to-empty hand anyway. I kept 1. Replaced teh other with a raptor. Living roots is nice if you draw it early but i was running into a lot of matchups where it just wasn't that great of a card. I kept one for aggro purposes and added another raptor. This deck plays much more like midrange than an aggro deck
-2 Fel Reaver
-1 Innervate
-1 living roots
+2 spectral knights
+2 Raptors
had to use Leeroy Jenkins for the fel works great
Nice deck bro.. I love it.. =)
Don't own loatheb so I put leeroy is that okay?
I love this deck. I didn't have 2 Fel Reaver so I replaced one with Harrison Jones for a bit more draw and a nice tempo swing. First Druid deck I've done well with, thanks pwny!
Edit: If somebody has a better suggestion for a Fel Reaver replacement, let me know.
So..... Just thanks you i LOVE this deck i go legend last season for the first time and i was searching for a new decklit to go legend this season ;-)
This deck is awesome - I'm running like 9-1 with it right now, from rank 12 - 9 in like an hour and a half
Which software do you use to track the matches?
Thanks!
Great it works really good!
Used this deck for some games now, went straight from rank 10 to 5 without a loss, I switched out the ooze for an ironbeak owl though, since the ooze didn't impact my games that much, thanks for sharing it!
No boom. Replacements?
Honestly, leeroy jenkins would work great in this deck. if you don;t have boom and have leeroy i would go for that
Also, I took out a Druid of the Claw for leeroy. I may just take out boom and put the DOC back in. I am loving leeroy in this deck. it fits perfectly
sir finley replacement?
