Introduction:
Due to the warsong commander nerf this deck may be alot better seeing I only really struggled against patron. =D
Sup, I'm a 17 year old male and am from New Zealand. So this deck is fully free to play and very surprisingly won me 21 games in a row going from rank 6 - 2 then finally, to legend. I've been bored of this meta with TGT only adding another cancer deck (secret paladin). So I decided to try make a new fun deck that could win 60%+ of its games in this boring and stale metagame, I also wanted gold rouge too. I really wish I had a video for the deck getting to legend, but since I'm at a holiday home I only have my phone. I've reached legend about 10 or 11 times and have mostly been playing in the top 100 legend area and almost have 7000 constructed wins now. It may be the experience/skill difference that's causing you to lose more than win, but keep trying because I know that this deck works, I've writin a small guide that will help you. Its a shame that I couldn't record my climb because I only had my phone, but next season I'll climb to legend again with this exact deck, climb to the top 100 area and try to give you guys solid evidence. =). So here it is, aggro, tempo, face, SMOrc, oil, board clear, weapon, mill and coin value rouge!
Enjoy!
Why? (These are my opinions, they may not be right or to your liking, but yeah.)
Cutpurse: Go face get a coin, bait removal, wreck enemy curve/plan, fun and bascially because it says "when this minion attacks a hero/face" I thought it'd be so good for this type of deck and i'd say I was right 60-70% of the time.
Buccaneer: Good early game body, gives another turn 2 option, flurry damage increase and can wreck enemy curve/plan. Not to mention 2 of these played then hero powering is so good.
Shredder: OP
Assassins Blade: Harrison is only played in control warrior, great to outlast turn 5-8, the deck allows this to be played without losing too much board tempo and it can also come out alot earlier with a couple of coins.
Coldlight Oracle: Draw 2 cards, 2/2 body, most decks cant even play most of the cards they have, can secure combos like poison/flurry, gives your hand/board steam and you can mill with it.
General Play Style:
- Fight for board turn 1-3
- Go face when ahead
- Be careful of enemy board clears
- Sap for an instant board and tempo swing (especially shredder and highmane, sometimes its an instant win)
- Think ahead a couple of turns eg: don't trade your 3/3 into the enemy 4/3, but go face knowing that with the cards in your hand can set up lethal next turn(s)
- Try to get decent flurry value eg: 3-4 minions
- Keep in mind your weapons durability to get the most out of weapon buffs eg: don't hit face turn 2 with your dagger, but save the charge for poison + a 2 drop on turn 3
- For maximum value always try to combo the combo cards eg: oil, eviscerate, cold blood and SI:7
- Try to end the game before turn 5-8 with an arcane golem/southsea deckhand, oil and/or flurry combo.
Mulligan:
Warrior: 1 drops, poison, 2 drops, flurry (for patron and preferably with poison), SI:7 and shredder.
Shaman: 1 drops, poison, sap, 2 drops, flurry (preferably with poison), SI:7 and shredder (if you can curve it in).
Rouge: 1 drops, poison, eviscerate, 2 drops, flurry (preferably with poison), SI:7 and shredder (if you can curve it in).
Paladin: 1 drops, poison, sap, 2 drops, flurry, SI:7 and shredder (if you can curve it in).
Hunter: 1 drops, poison, eviscerate, sap, 2 drops, flurry, SI:7 and shredder (if you can curve it and if you can play around freezing trap with southsea deckhand or something on board).
Druid: 1 drops, poison, eviscerate, sap, 2 drops, SI:7 and shredder.
Warlock: 1 drops, poison (if zoo), eviscerate (if zoo) sap, 2 drops, flurry (if zoo) SI:7, coldlight oracle (for handlock milling if you want) and shredder (if you can curve it in).
Mage: 1 drops, poison, eviscerate, sap, 2 drops, flurry (preferably with poison), SI:7 and shredder (if you can curve it in while playing around mirror entity)
Priest: 1 drops, poison, eviscerate, sap, 2 drops, flurry (preferably with poison), SI:7 and shredder(s).
Good against:
Everything but Warrior
Bad against:
Warrior
Final comments:
- Feel free to switch around cards, there are loads of cards out there to test and try eg: 2nd Cold Blood, Bloodmage Thalnos, Perdition's Blade, Goblin Auto Barber etc. Cutpurse was one of those test and try cards for me, it worked surprisingly well and it's a fun card.
- This deck is very skilled to play so refer to the guide to help you.
Upvotes are much appreciated! =D
This deck needs some silence. What card I should replace for Owl?
Sap>>Silence in aggro Rogue.
I remember having beaten a rogue with this deck as a mage. I almost lost, the rogue had 16HP and I had 7. Then he played his Leper Gnome and triggered my Mirror Entity, so he decided to remove my copy using his dagger. He lost 2 HP from the counter-attack and then 2 HP from the gnome's Deathrattle so he had 12 HP left. I double Fireballed his face the next turn. Nice duel.
Got 3 quick wins in casual out of 4 or 5 games. Don't know about all these arguments, but that's what I needed to do a daily quest and the deck delivered.
this deck doesn't suck. it's the draws that do. as long as you draw on curve then you're good. like that pesky tempo hunter. only problem would be anticipating early board wipes and your opponent getting faster tempo.
that card is too slow
Played it even more, and you didn't make legend with this and that's why you can't prove it.
You need combo's and getting those in a mulligan and soon after is rare. I have yet to see this deck last to turn 10. It relies to much on drawing the right cards early to win. I call b%^#$&!t on you saying this deck has a RELIABLE 60%+ win rate in this meta.
This deck isn't about going to turn 10 Its an aggro face deck. You shouldn't trade too much. Go face as much as you can. Combos are nice, but if you dont get them its not gg.
whatever not going to argue
Post a video of this deck going all face while holding a 60+ win percent or i'll take it as you just talking out your %$#.
Don`t know about ranked but this deck is really good for making daily quests. My thanks.
This deck has been strange for me.
I won about 8 of my first 10 matches with it, came from Rank 20 down to 15 (after a long absence from the game). After this fortune, I have lost about 7 or 8 matches in a row with it.
I'd like to know if anyone else has had this same results!
i find when playing ladder streaks can get you a few ranks higher than your current skill, 11-10 for me currently, then you have a losing streak getting your down to your actual skill level, 12-11 for me. This repeats as you get better in the game i find, just at higher ranks. I've had it happen at 18, 15, 13, 11, and 8. 8 being my highest rank achieved so far.
also, there are different metas at different ranks. making it where a deck will be better at say, 18 and 14, but worse at 16 as an example.
been enjoying your cheaper decks, they have been a lot of fun to play. thanks for making the guides in such detail.
How have you guys managed to get Cutpurse to work? When playing it turn two, if I'm first or turn one with coin, they always seem to have an answer to it no matter what class. Out of 30 or so games of this deck, I've only gotten one coin from him.
He's there to be a 2 drop and make your opponent use a removal. I mean if you can get a face hit in then yeah that's the best scenario. Most of the time he will just make your opponent waste a frostbolt, wrath...etc and let you get a few turns in to pull off a combo.
IF you made legend with this deck, big congrats because the luck was with you.
This is by no means a competitive deck, sure it's fun to play. I wouldn't use it as a serious ladder climber though. I've played quite a few games with it and sure i've climbed a few ranks but It gets wrecked by the current meta.
Vs a <snip> secretadin : His T1 : Secret kepper + Coin + Secret. His T2 : another 2 secrets, Noble Sacrfice wasn't one of it.
Well, fuck your secrets im going face. Game over at T7 =D. Loved it.
@Mazbaz Nice deck! I think I saw you play against Strifecro the other night on his stream, and you were running Argent Horserider; have they made it into the list? Any other changes?
Yeah I did vs and beat strifecro =D So I changed 1 cutpurse for the Argent Horserider and a Coldlight Oracle for a Fan of Knives because of all the paladins.
Makes sense!
You should update the list that's posted, :-).
