The idea is to use the low minion count and high value cost of minions to make King's Elekk a reliable spot on demand card draw while using a combination of secrets and  spells to tempo the board and get to your end game. The use of hero power will be crucial. The deck has the raw power to win on its own without needing Malygos, but for decks using plethora of healing, the combination could easily burst them down.

Mulligan guide

King's Elekk, Explosive Trap, Bear Trap, Freezing Trap, Flare(only if facing secret class), Deadly Shot(warlock and druid)..There is some value into holding onto an Emperor Thaurissan if you have coin

Synergies

Emperor Thaurissan enable a great amount with this deck. So its important to know when to play him. Unlike other decks you really need to get certain values reduced, mostly Arcane Shot.

King's Elekk is a rather important part of the deck as it gives some spot on draw to the main combo pieces of the deck

Eagle Horn Bow. The deck runs 6 secrets, so that should be pretty self explanatory

Gadgetzan Auctioneer + Tracking orFlare can lead to some rather effective card draw to fill your hand with combo pieces for that last push.

Malygos. If you get a good reduction on him and some damage spells the amount of reach you can achieve will be pretty damn awesome.

How can a deck with only 5 minions be control? 

The deck is a hybrid of combo and control. Much in the same way as hunter otk would use secrets and spells to deny a board for as long as they could wile burning face with bow and hero power, this deck does the same thing. By using the combo pull with the Gadgetzan Auctioneer you will be able to fill out your hand pretty decently. By the time you get to 9 or 10 you should have the tool to kill in a most surprising manor.
