Update:
Since Arcane Giant is out and the Wild Pyromancer + Commanding Shout Combo has proven to be good in OTK Worgen Warrior a combo Grim Patron Deck is playable again.
Playing Arcane Giant instead of Worgen as a finisher allows you to have extra deck slots for stuff like Whirlwind and Grim Patron-
Just felt like sharing this one again. It is probably the closest a deck has been to the old Warsong Commander Grim Patron Warrior.
The deck has seen high legend play by multiple players.
This is my version of the Grim Patron Warrior.
I tried to built the deck all around card draw. The more cards you draw the more likely you will have the right cards to combo in your hand at the same time.
I did reach legend Rank 1 with it on April 18th. (just for a short time but still)
Also I did reach legend Rank 1 with it on May3th. (after changing one card)
If you want to see the deck in action, follow me on twitch ( http://www.twitch.tv/senfglas_ )
Legend Rank 1 April 18th:
Legend Rank 1 May 3rd:
Mulligan
vs Aggro:
Fiery War Axe , Unstable Ghoul, Whirlwind, Frothing Berserker (Dread Corsair if you have a weapon already and Death's Bite if you have a Dread Corsair already)
vs Control:
Fiery War Axe , Death's Bite, Gnomish Inventor, Slam(Emperor Thaurissan against really slow control decks only, Dread Corsair if you have a weapon already)
How to play:
vs Aggro:
Just try to fight for board control as much as you can in general. Anything else should be fine then. Against Face Hunter: try to race them with your weapons and Frothing Berserker
vs Control:
Try to draw as many cards as you can while not loosing the board too much (the more you draw the more likely you will be able to play your little combos). Play a couple of Grim Patron if you know your opponent should not be able to clear them or just save them for the combo with Warsong Commander ( + Commanding Shout eventually). Also always keep in mind that you might be able to almost oneshot your opponent with a big Frothing Berserker especially after you got some value from Emperor Thaurissan.
Questions and answers:
Why do you not play...
...Grommash:
It could be good but i never saw a reason to put him in. I think I do not need him as a finisher. And playing him just as a big guy makes my opponent get more value out of his single target remove cards (which he usually does not get against this deck).
...Axe Flinger:
I do not need face damage on like turn 4 or in midgame in general. I prefer playing Gnomish there for an extra card draw. It also is not the best finisher in this deck in late game.
...Inner Rage:
My Mana curve is pretty low already. Still it could work well with Acolyte, Grim Patron, Battle Rage.
...Bouncing Blade:
Why would I? The card is just too inconsistent in my opinion. Also I do not want to fill up my entire board with Grim Patrons. Because in case of AoE damage I need space for new Patrons to spawn.
In general I think it is always much easier to say what card could be good in a deck than saying what card would I remove for that. And all the cards I am playing right now are working just fine.
Also check out this 2 minute video FailCraft made about the deck.

I have all these cards but slam, what would a good replacement be.
Perhaps Dr. Boom? /s
Why are you asking for replacements to 40 dust cards?
If it's *really* a huge problem, try Shield Block. Everyone has it, it cycles a card, it makes you harder to kill.
I ended up putting in a sea giant and loatheb as a replacement for slam
Axe Flinger costs too much for what it does; generally, you don't get more than 1/2 axes.
Why not replace the Gnomish Inventors with Axe Flingers ? They have the same cost, same synergy with Warsong Commander, and you already have a lot of ways to draw cards.
"IF" Empty Board -> Axe Flinger + Bouncing Blade = Pyroblast (to the face) for 7 Mana
I will replace the Inventors for 2 Flingers and maybe one slam for Bouncing Blade.
I'd like to see you make that combo.
i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or you'd actually just like to see it? because it's a 2 card combo for 7 mana, it's not exactly riduculous
What could possibly happen if you cast Commanding Shout before Bouncing Blade?
GG combo for 9* mana?
i'm just trying to say the likelihood of this combo is just too low to rely on an empty board.
I'm pretty aware, that an empty board is unlikely around turn 7 (unless Shredder->Doomsayer, Mage Flamestrike turn 7 after loosing board control etc.) but the example should just proof that the Axe Flinger can be really awsome givin the warrior tools. You could even buff him with Rampage and get more Axes to the face.
Also he isn't that reliable to win the game for you in a combe like Grim Patron but his damage potential is HUGE.
The blade would just stop when it "would kill" your 1 health minion when thers no enemy minion on the board.
Bouncing Blade does not work in a grim patron deck.
I didn't name them in one sentence or said it is the same combo. The Bouncing Blade is for theAxe Flinger. The Grim Patron would need Commanding Shout for a reliable combo with the Blade and should rather be used when theres no enemy minion to fill the board.
Yes Bouncing Blade is pretty RNG but also has a HUGE damage potential and is mostly a win for the warrior used with Commanding Shout.
Also there are more cards in this deck then Grim Patron.
love this deck! thanks for posting! frothing has been the star for me!
skum hunters are a prob as always. maybe something will be done one day about their ridiculous hero power.
While this list isn't suited to deal with hunters, warrior usually very much is. With antiques in the neutral pool as well, hunter is very easy to tech against, so nothing really needs to be done about hunter anymore. Undertaker nerf was the last they needed to put them in line.
I really want to put inner rage in this deck. What should i remove? Or should i just continue without inner rage
Ive' been primarily using this deck to rank 5 at the moment, planning on getting to legend again by the end of the season, and I've just substituted one whirlwind for one inner rage. They are interchangeable from my experience, and I prefer that 0 mana ping/optional damage more.
Can you start archiving your twitch streams? Timezones make it hard to view live. I was thinking of replacing a gnomish with a second commanding shout because its pretty much my win condition (rank 14), but it would be good to see how you play it before crafting. My board stays manageable, but I wouldn't call it under my control until a warsong combo goes down.
This guys deck is crazy! :o
