Kolento just hit legend's rank 1 playing this deck
Congrats I gave you the 100th rating
Swapped Shade for Edwin, definitely prefer this change
2 sprints is debatable, it's imperative to get sprint, but when you have 2 in hand early, you re facing a loss, so I ditched 1 sprint, put the shiv in there. I believe 2 fan of knives is overkill, 1 fan with 2 x blade of fury is most often enough aoe- replaced fan with sabotage, increases my chances with warrior, paladin. I ditched 1 violet, because so many hunters make it counterproductive with unleash, so I've put dr.Boom,
I subbed out sprint and bloodmage (because I don't have him) for two belchers. I lose basically every game against mech mage (I am not that good at this game but im trying to get better) and I feel like this would help. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Belchers? Why belchers? Blood mage can be subbed for geomancer for spell power(this deck has a ton of spells, and a two drop would help you combo them off) or loot hoarder if you are concerned about the draw. Belcher's won't save you from mech mage when they start getting board presence and fireballing/frost bolting your belcher. And that 1 sprint you subbed is amazing with preparation to get the right cards to kill your opponent with a combo.
Mech mage in my experience is 50/50. If they get the god draw and you lose, they get a decent or bad draw, if you draw your poison, backstab, SI agent etc. its manageable.
The deck isn't about stalling the game with belchers. You don't have any late game threats like Dr. Boom or Ragnaros in this deck. Its about using your early removal and clearing the board turn 3-4, dropping threats like violet teacher and azure drake around turn 4-6, and then killing him with a combo. You can get pieces through cards like prep+sprint. They drop taunts you sap. Mech mage builds board, you combo off with a poisoned blade furry+spell power. I've dealt 24-31 damage from combos. The only problem is getting minions to stick and get combos off of. Thats the use of deckhand and shade.
I've liked having 1 Antique Healbot in the deck, since it helps vs. Mech Mage and Face Hunter. I cut the Shade, since that's at its best vs. control decks, and we're already pretty strong in those matchups.
Even with the Healbot, though, I think that Mech Mage is an unfavorable matchup unless you get a hand full of SIs, Backstabs, etc.
Alternatively, you can try a version with Shivs like what jj102 plays, which is like the version posted here but -1 Shade, -1 Tinker's Sharpsword Oil, -1 Loatheb, +2 Shiv, +1 Prince Gallywix.
I agree with ClemontsFuture on re-adding Bloodmage (or Kobold Geomancer) and the 2nd Sprint, since they both make the deck work properly.
definitely not. preperation is the key to this deck
replacement for Bloodmage Thalnos
Shiv is the best option
With all the spells in this deck i'd go geomancer for spell power. If not, go for loot horder for the draw.
If the thing you're going for is spell damage, then Kobold Geomancer is the best, but if you're going for the card draw, Loot Hoarder is your best option
Been trying to play this deck, been losing to every hunter, and mage I go up against. Druids, pallies, war, even other rogues I win, I fought 1 lock and lost, and shammies have been more loses then wins. I'm stuck at the 12-11 level, I can't get past it, seems this deck is just running out of steam to get past that mark. I have no idea what to do next to try and get it to work.
Face hunter and mech mage/shaman have been the easiest wins for me. Mulligan for cheap removal and if you have the coin, keep SI7. I always seem to have some combo that works, such as Thalnos + prep + fan of knives, deadly poison + eviscerate. A lot of it is luck, but the deck is packed with cheap removal, so this type of combo should occur quite often.
Sometimes you have control and they burst you down with spell damage, but you can't really avoid that.
edit: actually priests have been the easiest wins about 90%, but the aggro decks are about 2/3.
Against mech mage be aggressive in mulligans for AOE it is the difference between a win and a loss, ditch prep+sprint combo in the match up for AOE even. You can handle there board very well, just chill out and control there board hit face when you can and wait to have enough burst damage to bring them down. Face hunter is a very agressive match up, unlike other classes you need to focus just as much in kill them as you do controlling the board. never let up on there face to you have just as much burst damage as they do if not more.
I dub this deck KOILENTO.
Nope this is happening to me A LOT !! it's like this deck has just lost it's juice. When I first made it, the deck was running well. Now i'm lucky if I can even get a win with it. It's getting very frustrating.
kobold geomancer for spell damage
loot hoarder for card draw
in this deck , i prefer kobold geomancer
Can someone add my btag? Jonte1234#2594 and spec my while I'm playing this deck because I'm losing like 24/7
got nice win streak, from rank 15 to 9, now I'm getting back to 11, losing to shamans, hunters and druids mostly
Same here. Going up and down. -_- In kolento's vids he does really well against druid. I haven't won against a druid all day.
