I've seen a few Deathrattle Priest decks recently, and have decided to post the version I've been running the last couple weeks.
This deck utilizes the Shadow spell package for Priest, which with the Deathrattles from Naval Mine, Mi'da, Pure Light, Spirit Guide and Shadowed Spirit create a time clock for your opponent with your powerful burn potential over the course of the game. You're then able to resummon them with Amulet of Undying and then trigger them once more with Xyrella, the Devout to deal damage and resurrect Mi'da, Pure Light. You can find the Amulet of Undying with all spell specific draw from Twilight Deceptor,Spirit Guide and Thrive in the Shadows.
There's also enough healing and board clears from Shadow Word: Devour and Devouring Plague in conjunction with the newly buffed Shadowcloth Needle to win early and mid-game boards.
The clears work but I just ran out of stuff while mech decks sit there discovering more. Also seems like an auto loss to any control decks since everyone else's win con is faster.
Cool idea though, i hope it can work at some point this year.
The deck definitely suffers against board heavy decks like Mech Mage, Mech Paladin and Murloc Warlock.
I have gone toe to toe with control decks but they can often be losses without the correct starting hand.
I think there can be some deck improvements made, especially with the new Shadow spell Drown just being added. I'm hopeful that Shadow can at least be a viable archetype because it's sure a hell of a lot cooler than... Boar Priest.
Love the new deck idea! What are your general mulligans and I don't have voidtouched attendant. How critical is this card
Always keep a Defias Leper if you have a Shadow spell in the Mulligan, especially low cost ones like Shadow Word: Devour and Thrive in the Shadows. You will want to keep Shadowcloth Needle when facing against more aggressive classes like Demon Hunter, Mech Mage, Mech Paladin and Murloc Warlock.
Voidtouched Attendant is critical to being able to push enough damage to finish games but the best replacement I can think of would be a second Vicious Slitherspear and Psychic Conjurer. Craft it if you enjoy a more aggressive Priest but otherwise I would wait.
