Hi guys, Zephyrus1291 here, just a casual D5-D1 and Legend player. I'd like to share my version of highlander hunter here with some vibes carried from the AoO meta since it's shown some promising results. Currently, I only have a small sample of 17 matchups and the winrate is at 65% (11-6). Most losses are due to insanely bad draws or "damage race" against Aggro DHs or Face Hunters. However, most of the time, the deck packs a lot of power with tempo swings, synergies, and secret plays in almost every turn.

One of the key strengths in most Highlander Hunter decks is its ability in tutoring specific cards, using Diving Gryphon or Scavenger's Ingenuity, thinning deck quickly with Phase Stalker or Inconspicuous Rider, and finishing off with Dinotamer Brann.

With the introduction of Tour Guide and Lorekeeper Polkelt from SoA, Highlander Hunter acquired significant upgrade in the meta through the synergies with Phase Stalker, Dragonbane, and Dinotamer Brann. And in MDF, the use of secret synergies, especially Open the CagesInconspicuous RiderPetting Zoo, and Rinling's Rifle, its strength remains powerful, sitting at Tier 1 (source: Vicious Syndicate's Data Reaper Report 180 Dec 2020).

In terms of mulligan, you might want to look at the 1-cost cards, especially Intrepid InitiateDwarven SharpshooterDemon Companion, and Adorable Infestation. I would argue to not keep Wolpertinger in your starting hand as it's more useful as a tutor target from Scavenger's Ingenuity.

Another tips that I would point out is to not drop the Marsuul Cub in order to ensure a synergy with Kill Command or Faceless Corruptor in later turns.

Let's also talk about the secrets used in this deck. Note that all 4 secrets can be triggered in the same turn if a friendly minion is attacked and the effect can be quite overwhelming for your opponent. Although ignoring any minion can be the solution for this, Petting Zoo swing or putting another high pressure minions such as DragonbanePhase Stalker,  or Trampling Rhino would eventually require your opponent to deal with those secrets.

Hardest matchups would be against Aggro DHs and mirror match with Highlander Hunters. It really comes down to the more favored card draws, mulligans, and decision-makings in those matches. Other matchups should be favorable statistically.

Please let me know if this deck works out for you in the comment section below and feel free to suggest or discuss further about this deck. Thank you for reading and have fun!
