Hello ! My name is Basilord, I'm some random player playing in Diamond ranks. I wanted to share the only deck I've been playing this month and share my thoughts about it.
This deck is the most fun I had for a long time and is good enough to climb at least to Diamond. I think it can get me to Legend too but I don't have the time for that kind of grind. I'm on a positive winrate with it (around 53%) through ~45 games (and 6 or 7 I misplayed hard, I would say). This deck has been through multiple changes and this version is the one I found really well balanced and strong.
Your goal with this deck is to survive until your quest is done and get some big cheap minions on the board. To do that, you want to find a good balance between using some cards to control the board and keep drawing with your hero power.
There is a bunch of cards that rely on having a big hand so you need to keep this in mind especially on the 5 first turns. Abyssal Summoner is an excellent card because it gives you two bodies and the demon can be at least a 7/7 pretty easily on turn 6. Also, keep in mind it can come back with Kanrethad Prime.
Twilight Drake and Crazed Netherwingcan be good bodies to deal with smaller minions early on but are also very important for your Nether Breath. I found this combination very useful because of all the very agressive decks played at the moment. You will need healing ! Alexstrasza is also useful for your Nether Breath and is very strong against Priest because you should be able to set up a big board with 15+ dmg eventually.
A main combo of this deck is to use Fel Lord Betrug with Plot Twist when you have 10 mana. Make sure you have a big hand to get more chances at getting big minions with Reborn or a Deathrattle. That kind of swing can also make you clear your opponent's board easily. If you did not play Kanrethad Ebonlocke before and are lucky, Fel Lord Betrug can also give you a second copy of Kanrethad Prime !
The other Plot Twist can be used earlier on to help you completing the quest, getting some heal through Aranasi Broodmother and/or finding some board control such as Keli'dan the Breaker, Dark Skies or Crazed Netherwing. Don't try to get the draw effect of Keli'dan the Breaker too hard, it is also a good single target removal that can win you games.
Another strength of this deck is that you will be quite unpredictable since people expect you to play another kind of Quest Warlock deck at the moment.
Have fun !
i thought this was going to be trash, but it's actually pretty decent
this deck is pretty much 100% win if you can reach turn 10 with Bertrug and Plot twist on hand (against some aggro or rogues), so i would consider some doomsayers to increase your chances of survival.
i don't have Kragg nor Kanrethad and used 2 twisted knowledge in their places and it turned out fine.
and even tho i don't have kragg, it seems like such a weak card, adding another hellfire instead of kragg is probably a better option.
unfortunately i don't think it's possible to win against a priest with this one.
thanks
Also it's worth noting keli'dan won't see any play at all cuz you're saving plot twist for bertrug (unless you get a lucky keli'dan draw) maybe an owl or twisted knowledge are some good substitutes.
I like Kragg because of the two bodies and the taunt effect but playing another Hellfire is good too. In my experience, Kragg was way more useful than Hellfire. Dark Skies does the job well enough for small minions boards most of the time.
Kanrethad is quite important for longer matchups like Priest. I'm actually on 5-1 against them so it has been a pretty good matchup with the latest version of my deck so far.
I don't share your opinion about Keli'dan at all, it's a very strong card if you are lucky and still decent with its "not drawn this turn" effect. In my experience, it saved me a lot more than I expected.
The owl could be used instead but a lot of decks get to pull off some fat minions without any buff or deathrattle so I don't think it will be good enough.
Twisted Knowledge is a fun card but you already fill your hand very fast with this deck and I will see it mostly used late in the game when you lose some steam and I don't know if it is worth one or two slots in the deck. Maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks for your comments :)
