Since paladins haven't really had a viable deck other than murloc paladin, I've tried to find a way to have some success with a more midrange, control-oriented paladin deck. The libram package is a bit too slow in my opinion, so I tried my hand at a highlander version, built with the current aggro-heavy meta in mind. It can however handle the more control-heavy decks if played patiently.

So far, this deck has brought me from D5 to D1 without dropping a single game. The dragon package seems to perform surprisingly well. It is able to handle aggro-heavy decks such as Demon Hunters, Hunters, and Murloc Paladins very well, due to the strong heals provided by Bronze Explorer, Amber Watcher, and Nozari (in a pinch), and a constant board presence.

Notable Cards

Sir Finley of the Sands This card can change the focus of your deck immensly, based on the opponent you're facing. Getting the upgraded paladin hero power can work wonders against Priests, as they have difficulty dealing with two small bodies every turn (same goes for warlocks, you basically get their galakrond hero power as well, leveling the playing field). Getting the Druid or Demon Hunter HP can make your weapons quite devastating. Even the 1/4 from Libram of Justice becomes a 3/4. Your heals help mitigate the damage you take by clearing the board with your weapons.

Dragonrider Talritha In all of my games so far, this card has been the absolute MVP. There are not a lot of silences being played currently, so the +3/+3 buff gets chained. Having this buff land on a Bronze Explorer is simply the nuts against any aggresive deck. After the opponent has dealt with the Bronze Explorer, they now have an 8/8 Big Ol' Whelp to deal with next turn, etc, etc.

Zephrys/Dragonqueen Alexstraza Staples of any highlander deck. Use them to find lethal or swing the board. These help you win the game.

Board Clears and Synergies

Some notable synergies to help control the board are:

Wild Pyromancer/Consecrate + Libram of Justice Clears the opponent's board and leaves you with a weapon.

Waste Warden Underrated card in my opinion. Helps deal with murloc paladin boards or demon hunter boards extremely well, and swings the board back in your favor.

Zephrys no comments needed. Absolute beast.

It's important to note that board presence takes precedence over board clears. Due to your healing capabilities you are able to tank a few hits if you feel you can get a better/more efficient board clear later.

The biggest weakness so far is card draw. A few of the cards can definitely be changed out to make room for some more card draw. This is an unrefined deck, so tinker away if you have better ideas.
